I am a friend or relative of a resident

The staff generally seems friendly and is always helpful. The facilities are nice enough, although the premise is pretty small (they make good use of the space). They have a nice garden/fountain area in the middle of the complex where residents can sit or watch birds and squirrels from their room windows. The residents seem to enjoy themselves enough, although I imagine most would prefer to be doing something else (living in their own home, going out, etc). Still, they have activities, visitors, a live-in dog that everybody loves, and amneties like a hair salon and piano room. Personally, I do not like going there (although I like seeing my grandmother) because there is something very sad about seeing the residents (especially the ones who are losing their minds or suffering from severe depression) in the last stages of their lives. I always feel welcomed and get the impression that they take good care of the residents.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My cousin stays at this nursing home, the staff here takes care of him as needed, like giving him his many medications on time, making sure he gets to the bathroom when he needs to, because he is bedridden. Every week they have some kind of get together where the families can come out and converse with other people that are living there, or people that have come to visit. Usually these get togethers are where everybody comes they fix a meal, and everybody plays bingo and wins prizes. This makes the people that are staying there feel as though they aren't stuck in boredom, and this gives them something to look forward to every week. The nursing staff at the Lutheran Home are very nice too, like if one of the patients is feeling down not only can they be there caregiver, they will also be there friend in a time of loneliness and depression. I would recommend this Nursing Home to anybody that is looking for someplace to feel right at home, but still get the care you need.

    I visited this facility

My grandmother has been an Alzheimer's patient for around five year. Her memory has been slowly fading for a number of years. My family, prompted by my grandfather, soon realized that it may be necessary to find a place that would be able take care of her, just in case things became hard to bear. We looked around at several different assisted living facilities throughout the county, but could not find one that showed a certain amount of expertise required for caring for Alzheimer's patients. Then we looked into The Lutheran Home. The staff and administration were very friendly. We were assured that they be able to meet all the needs of my grandmother. My grandmother is a very important person in my life, as well as the lives of my other family members. We felt secure in knowing that this assisted living facility would provide efficient and safe care for her.
