My mom has moved into Orchard Heights, Inc. They take very good care of her. It's clean and well-kept. The staff is friendly. It has beautiful landscaping. They got sidewalks throughout the whole place, so if the residents want, they can walk or use their wheelchairs or scooter or whatever. They have bingo, arts and crafts, and they do little tours now and then. They got an ice cream parlor there and a snack office. It's nice. For the food, my mom seems to like everything. Everything seems pretty good there, I'm pretty happy with them.

I toured Orchard Heights. It was very nice. It was clean. The staff was so helpful. If my godmother would have survived, she would have gone there. The rooms were nice, too. They could have cable. They have their own bathrooms, which was nice. Some places don't. It was in beautiful surroundings to an orchard park. The views were real pretty. They had libraries, community rooms, a big game room, a TV room, an ice cream parlor, and a beauty shop.

We went to Orchard Heights, Inc. It was very clean. The apartments were very nice. It's connected to assisted living; it's all connected. However, my mother-in-law was a little bit upset because everyone seemed to be fixed like in walkers and not able to stand up, so she wasn't sure about that even though they're independent apartments. You have to go through the assisted living area to get to the independent living, and so we also saw the assisted living. They eat together in the cafeteria though. It was very nice. It's in a beautiful location. The staff was good. However, we felt like the activities that they had were more geared towards assisted living than independent living type residents. We felt that wasn't attractive enough for my mother-in-law in our opinion. They have a salon, but I don't remember a gym. They have a room with cards and puzzles and stuff like that.

We chose Orchard Heights Senior Living for my dad because of the cleanliness of the facility. Everything's on one floor, there are no stairs, and they also supply the furniture in the package. The staff is extremely helpful and responsive. He enjoys the way everything is set up there, and the way the units are set up in sections. He likes the multiple general seating areas that each section has there, he enjoys the food and he likes the activities. He's never an activities director, but for him to be doing their activities, it must be good. It's a very clean, bright, and very positive atmosphere. In terms of cost, they are not any more than many other places, that I feel, that isn't quite as new or nice as this facility.

My mother was in Orchard Heights. The grounds are nice and pretty well kept. There's a walking path with some gazebos where families can sit. The room wasn't huge, and it was pretty much at the top tier of cost for an assisted living facility at around $6500 a month. I had an expectation that they would be able to engage my mom and redirect her, since she has Alzheimer's, but ultimately they were not able to do that. They told us it just wasn't the right fit for her, and they thought that she should be in a memory care facility that was locked. The administration was very nice, but my mother had a nurse who was extremely high strung and stressed out, and she kept calling me. They say that there is an ice-cream parlor and an art studio, but it is just a room -- like the art studio is just a room with a table and chairs, and no one is using it. The food was decent; I wouldn't say it was great. I ate a meal there. It was a fish fry, and it was definitely like a frozen piece of fish; it wasn't fresh fish. They could learn how to manage Alzheimer's patients and give the family a little more notice than a phone call saying, "This isn't the right fit for your mother; someone has to come and pick her up."

We placed a 95 year old family member who had been cared for around the clock for nearly a year by family at Orchard Heights. She was suffering from dementia. She walked in on her own using a walker. A week later she was in the hospital due to extreme dehydration. We paid extra for enhanced care. My Sister-in-Law who is a PA said the ER Doctor could not believe she was in this condition in a week’s time. They kept her at the hospital and she died a week later. This level of neglect is astounding.

I have a family member at Orchard Heights, and I think its excellent. The staff is very good, the facility is excellent, and the food is very good. The activities are wonderful, and the rooms are big and spacious, wonderful and lovely. I cant find any fault with it. They have lots of activities, trips, a nice outdoor and picnic area, and walking paths. The linens, toilet furnishings, and lighting are good.

Orchard Heights has been fine. They have games, music, and rides outside of the area. She's had physical therapy and gets her hair done there. The place is very clean and laid out well. The rooms were nice and laid out well. It would be nice though if they had an area where the elderly can walk to, like a courtyard, without being escorted. They take them to doctors' appointments. She likes the food.

Orchard Heights was a very well-presented, nice, and clean community. It had good-quality people and a higher level of care in terms of attention to people. The rooms were very nice, very impressive, and very classy in their care.

The staff at Orchard Heights is very friendly and helpful, particularly in the memory care where my dad is in; his wife is in assisted living. They were very accommodating to have her close to him, so I appreciated that. My dad's room and hers are like hotel rooms with a single bed, private bathroom with shower, a closet, and a side chair. My dad's room has drapes and her room has blinds; if you wanted to bring your own drapes, you can. They have outside entertainment that comes in, like singers, and on her side, they have knitting, bingo, and a minivan that takes residents places once a week in the local community. In the winter, they took a ride out to a local ski resort just for the ride in the snow. My dad has the same things but a lot of their activities are geared toward memory care people, so a lot reminiscing, trivia games, coloring, baking, and church services.

Orchard Heights was a little pricey for what you're getting. The rooms were small, but the staff was very knowledgeable and very helpful. It was very expensive, but the room was like a hotel room without a kitchenette.

Orchard Heights was too far away. We live about 30 miles away, and it is too far to go within snow country, so it is not a place we are considering. It is under construction right now as far as the other parts of the facility, and it was less impressive. The woman who led the tour was very nice. It seemed like an older facility that they are updating. We would not choose this place for my mother-in-law. We were not impressed.

Our experience at Orchard Heights was very good. The staff seems to really connect and care about the people who live there. It’s very clean and wide open, and it’s not that dark nursing home feel. They have a lot of activities, and the food is good. I would absolutely recommend them. This was the first one I have toured and ended up choosing it, but it is expensive.

My parents are very happy and satisfied with Orchard Heights. It is my choice because it is close to my residence. It is also because they are able to meet my parents' needs. It is an excellent facility. It is very clean. They have a beautiful patio where you can sit outside. They have fresh flavored water that you can drink and always available. My parents' room is spacious. It is clean and odor-free. They have a view outside their windows that they can enjoy. The staff is very accommodating. My parents had been in three different places before, but this place is one of the best staff-wise. Orchard Heights also has activities that residents can enjoy. They have something for them to do every afternoon, and every night, they would have people come in and do things. Of course, they also have the usual games for seniors. I haven't tasted the food yet but both my parents are very happy with it. They have a menu where they can choose what they want. They're really enjoying their meals there. I would definitely recommend this place.

When my grandpa's medical conditions worsened last year, we decided it was time to find somewhere for him to move in where they could take care of him better than we could here at home. There was really no rush, so we were being picky. This was one of the best facilities we came across, even though we did not end up sending him here because of the location. The staff members were more than happy to answer all of our questions. There were a lot of things for the residents to do. I especially remember they offered cooking classes. The place was clean and very neat and the people who were living there seemed happy. The only thing I can comment on is the lighting. It was not as bright here as a lot of the other places I visited, so it seemed like it could be a bit dreary in the winter. That is a minor detail, but worth noting.

I love this assisted living facility. My great grandmother actually just got resident of the month because of how great she is doing there. It is pretty amazing that she went from a woman who did not like to talk to anyone, to one of the most popular ladies there. Everyone at this facility is nice, and care about what they are doing. I would recommend this facility to anyone who has grandparents or parents who are in need of looking after because of how great it is. In the facility itself there is an ice cream parlor which is great because many people love ice cream and it is a great place to socialize with your family members. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the best part is that your loved one will never have to worry about paying for them out of pocket. You pay one set price per month and you are even allowed to go on special field trips. This is a great place because it is in the woods. The residents are able to walk around and even feed the wild life. You are even allowed to have your own little garden in front of your window. You get your own room, so you never have to worry about someone stealing your things or misplacing them. All in all this is an amazing facility and I hope it is around for decades to come.
