I visited the nursing home on a daily basis to visit my family member. Although the facility itself is not "eye pleasant" on the outside or inside, it really has a great staff to make up for this fault. When I first went to the nursing home I was not pleased with how everything looked, however the staff assured me that they hired some of the best professionals in the area and were able to take the best of care for my loved one. I was skeptical but decided to give it a try. The staff was the most friendly and caring people that I have ever met. They began to know me by name and always greeted me upon my arrival. I could tell that they truly cared for what they were doing and treated my loved one with the greatest of care.

This facility is now called Surge. Don't let the pictures on the website of Surge fool you. While the lobby, physical therapy room and its bathroom, are very nice the rooms are not. The second floor rooms are a little nicer than the third floor rooms. If you are on the third floor (for permanent residents) there is always an awful odor. The food is nothing like the pictures on the website. While the staff is nice they are understaffed and the residents don't get the attention they need. Often things went missing for a period of time and we could not find them including dentures and electric razor. There is no outside seating area for visiting.

I stayed at Surge Rehabilitation and Nursing and I didn't like it. The doctors weren't very good. They didn't give me medicine because they said they didn't have it. Some days I had it, some days I didn't. The nurses and the physical therapists were very good, and the food was good. They had bingo, old movies, and religious services. There was not much going on.
