I have lived at McGraw House for 9 years. McGraw House is a community. We all try to help and support each other. Getting through the COVID19 pandemic has been challenging. The McGraw House staff have gone above and beyond to keep us all safe and healthy during this time.

I have lived at McGraw House for 6 years. I love that it is a non profit organization and is not like the for profit senior housing facilities. That said... It is a very old building built in 1971. It has had a recent renovation and upgrades have been done every year that I have been in residence. Noise travels through the building especially the infrastructure noise such as for the heating and cooling. McGraw House is a community. You will have 110 neighbors on your street! We all try to help and support each other. We are in the downtown of Ithaca, NY with Cornell University nearby.... lots to do!

I looked at McGraw House, and it was lovely. I would highly recommend this one. It was independent living, and they each had their own apartments. You can have a studio or a one-bedroom; they've all been remodeled and were all very nice. All the people who lived there were wonderful. You could see that they were well-kept and clean. It was a very, very nice facility. It was right in town, so it was easy to get to. They had their own buses that take people all over the place all day long. They take them to their doctor's appointments or for shopping -- everything. They had several varieties of things to eat. It was not just one thing. They made the dishes so that they were nice. Everything looked good, and it was on a heated table, so they can help themselves how much they want or if they didn't like that, they can have something else. People there were just super. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Every one of them that I met, and I met about ten people when I was up there who were all very, very nice. They were also very nice to each other -- no arguing with each other -- and they weren't sitting around looking like they had nothing to do. They were working, they had papers to take care of, and it was very, very well-organized. I can't say enough about it.
