I visited my mother at Avamere Rehab at Fiesta Park through the window of her room. We talked through our cell phones. They gave her excellent care and excellent support. It was a very helpful place. She said they treated her very well, and they were very attentive and good to her. She didn't have any complaints. I had meetings with her doctor and her case manager, and everybody was very attentive, pleasant, and helpful. She had her own room, and it seemed very nice. It had a hospital bed in it, and she had her things that I brought to her. She said it was clean, and she liked it. She liked the food, and she could have all she wanted to eat and more. She was very happy with that. It was very nice, well designed, looked accessible, looked very pleasant, and was very well run; the people were very responsive.

I was transferred to this so-called "rehab" facility after knee surgery. It was a terrible experience, on top of a terrible experience at the hospital. As far as I could tell what they offer here as sub-par. I did not get the rehab I was supposed to get. Whatever they charge, not good enough. I would avoid this place at all costs.

Review of “Avamere at Fiesta Park Rehabilitation Facility.” If there is one word I could use to describe my “care” at this facility it would be “neglectful.” From basic nursing care, nurses aide’s duties to dietary, my experience was one of frustration due to lack of communication and real worry due to tardiness of needed services. I cannot comment on the physical and occupational therapy (as I only needed wound care and IV treatment), and some of the staff were friendly. Overall the facility is both understaffed and staffed with marginally qualified people. During my week-plus at this facility, I was never given the opportunity to shower, meals were routinely marginal and miniature, my wound care was often neglected and my nurses aide’s essentially did nothing to help me except take vital signs once daily. My medications were given correctly and on time. If you can help it, I would avoid being transferred to this facility as it just isn’t a good experience from a patient perspective.
