I visited this facility

I toured Colonial Manor At Panther Valley. They have cottages. The one that I visited was undergoing renovation. I was told that whenever someone passes away or decides to move out, they redo the interior of the whole cottage. And this particular cottage was getting a new washer-dryer combination, a new sink, a new stove, and a new refrigerator. The bedroom is very large. It has decent two closets. The front living room is also large. It looks out to the pond behind the cottage. There's nothing old in that particular cottage. The carpeting looks to be brand new. The staff who gave the tour was very good. She was not the person that I had agreed to meet at 1:00, and so this other woman took me around. We had nice conversations. It was just very pleasant. The grounds were very nice. Everything seemed neat and clean. I talked with the woman that was sitting there in the lobby and she seemed very relaxed and very pleasant. It was an enjoyable visit. It was worthwhile that I got a chance to look at it.

Review for colonial manor at Panther valley assisted and independent living. Rooms in the assisted are spacious and renovated. We were able to see a furnished room as she toured us to give us an idea when showing a vacant room which we liked that she took time to do. The independent living cottages are all first floor one story units and they are extravagant in design and come with all amenities. We liked that one can transition from either level (I.e independent to assisted or vise versa independent to assisted) so that was an excellent plus. The tour guide was the manager of the facility and she explained in depth all aspects of her facility. She left us with no questions yet amazed us by answering all of our would be questions. We went into this new process for my father being nervous and uncertain, after meeting with her at colonial manor at Panther valley we left confident, excited and more importantly comfortable in most areas we couldn’t get answers too when touring alternate facilities. I believe the reason I chose this facility for my father was certain to do with (Nic) and her demeanor, personality and the fact she enjoyed explaining each job duties of her staff and their day to day schedule with their residents. Fast forward to now, many years later, my father is still living there and I have told my work buddies, and my neighbors about this facility. Thank you to everyone at colonial manor Panther valley. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

Beautiful facility, very well kept, very clean, hardworking overly kind staff, top of the like management, very involved nurses. Residents are kept clean, as are their rooms. Residents seem very happy, laughing and smiling. Many activities, in-house therapy, variety of meals, facility doctor, hair salon, exceptional all around great care to all residents. Staff go above and beyond. Very home like facility, the second you walk in. The tour we received sold us. Very in depth, she is very compassionate, knows every detail of her facility to explain in depth. Visit your loved one anytime with no heads up, and you will see for yourself residents and facility immaculate. The manager is more involved than any manager I’ve met with at any facility, business, etc.

Excellent facility very clean beautiful renovations positive and humble happy atmosphere. Family owned and operated. We loved nicole from the very first time we met her in our tour. She was so thorough and new everything. From the care the residents receive to the small details she explained it all. We could tell she loves her facility. In her tour we passed by very happy residents well taken care of. Years later it has surpassed any levels of expectations. They have our hearts our trust and our utmost love and respect. They make our family feel very confident and safe and secure. Continuing care. 24 hour care. So much to do. Many levels of therapy available right at the facility. They have a facility doctor. Nicole’s nurses are excellent very smart but very caring nurses not your ordinary nurses. The nurses aides are compassionate, kind, helpful and go above and beyond. Large studio like private rooms with 2 closets and a private bathroom. Rooms are very well kept up with as well as the entire facility. There is nothing nicole has not been able to help us with. She’s always there, we can call her anytime or text her. She’s a very busy lady and always gets back to us. We are so happy with colonial manor at panther valley. They truly have it all.

Amazing facility. Excellent care. Nicole is amazing. She’s the manager and lives on premises with her husband. Nicole and her staff are beyond compassionate. Dad is happy. Before colonial he missed mom so much he did nothing at home wouldn’t eat depressed and not even excited to see the grandkids. He’s a completely different man since moving to colonial. He does the activities that he likes, he has physical therapy there, sees the facility doctor in person once a month at colonial manor, loves the food, loves the girls (staff) and like when Bentley the dog stops in to say hello. Nicole runs a clean, neat, dignified, compassion, fun and lively facility. Come to her for anything you will always have a solution. She’s been through it all and is very experienced. Everyone loves her. When you have managers that are physically involved in every aspect of their residents every single day THAT is why truly makes colonial Manor at panther valley stand out from all other facilities. I will continue to recommend this facility to my work buddies for their mom or dad, my neighbors, anyone who I can. Last did I mention the nurses and the nurses aides. Such well driven competent intelligent over the top caring group of women as well. Nicole and andrew really hold their staff at the highest ranking and guide them each day how to deal with certain things out of the daily routine. I always think to myself, imagine if colonial manor extended their assisted care! Now that would be beneficial to all future families in need. For now, they will stay on the waiting list. Thank you folks. Have a look for yourself inside by a tour with Nicole.

My sister in law went to this facility because she was allowed to keep her two cats. A few months ago, she was diagnosed with cancer and was moved to hospice care, along with her beloved pets. Yesterday, the family was informed her cats would be removed on Wednesday, denying her the right to keep them any longer. She died last night, and I will always feel she just gave up when she knew her companions were being taken away.....I would NOT set foot in this facility knowing how heartless they were with her...

I visited this facility

I visited the Colonial Manor at Panther Valley. It's very homey and it's not one of the larger facilities, but it just feels like home. My mother likes it quite a bit. It's not overwhelming, the people are very nice. It's family-oriented, which is very nice. We took her to see it and she really loved it. The owner of the facility gave us the tour and she was wonderful. She's been in touch with us regularly and she allowed us to bring my mother to see the place. She showed us the whole facility. She showed us how the rooms are like. We met some of the residents that were there and the staff; they're just very welcoming. The rooms were much larger than we expected them to be. Every time a new resident comes into the facility, a room is renovated, and the carpet is replaced. I think the bathroom is also replaced and updated regularly. It's got a big beautiful window in it overlooking a pond. It's very peaceful. The closet space is amazing. They have 2 very large closets. The bathroom space is nice and it's a very nice size room. We didn't try any food but she gave us a sample menu from both times we saw the place. I don't know if the menus are given out monthly or weekly, but the residents get to view what's being offered. They have substitutions if the resident is not happy with it. There is food you can order. Their menu was very nicely put together, to. They even have a diabetic menu. We have spoken to some of the residents and some of the family members of the residents who said that it was excellent there. The time we visited, they had somebody come in and play live music. They have a ballroom, which is very pretty, and they had a lot of the residents in there. There was a gentleman playing music and some of the residents were dancing. It's very social, which is very nice. Mom was able to go in there and talked to some of the residents. That was the only thing we were able to see that time. They have a small salon there for the residents that want their hair done. They have a doctor on staff and there is a physical therapist that sees the residents twice a week. They have bus trips regularly into town. They can also schedule it if other residents want to go into town, get together and take a ride. They supply laundry services and maid service, too. They gave us an activity list. There are different types of exercise classes. There's bingo, movie nights, live music that comes in, and every Sunday they have a mass service with communion for residents who want to have that. It's absolutely amazing. We also weigh it in terms of financial reasons, considering the cost of other facilities, and this place is incredible because everything is included. We found out from all the other places that you have your monthly payment and then everything else that is required runs between $1300-2000 extra so this here is ridiculously reasonable; considering what we're paying for 3 meals a day and the care. They seem to keep the residents as active as they want to be. They do push a little bit to keep them on their schedules and try to keep them active, but there seems to be a range of the type of things that different people want to do. Someone may not be sociable enough to go to their music events, so they seem to have a very nice layout for that too. There are areas that are quiet like the library and the theater room where you can have family over to watch a movie with you if you're not comfortable yet being with strangers. I think they make it comfortable and very easy for different types of people.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father was a resident at Colonial Manor for a short time. Most of the staff are friendly and hardworking, but the owner is frequently unresponsive. Nicole, rarely answers the phone, and sometimes I had to leave several voicemail messages, emails, and/or texts before getting a response. They do not perform daily services as promised, so the resident is not getting the services they’re paying for. I called over 100 facilities before placing my father at Colonial Manor. Colonial Manor was far less expensive than other facilities in the area. Sadly, now I know why. The level of care they offer is substandard as compared to similar places. I know my father would have done better in a facility where they actually provide the daily care that is promised, and that the resident is paying for. After my father died, we wanted to acknowledge the good work of the majority of staff, and also say thank you to the residents that were so kind to my father for the short time he was there. So we sent a large gift of individually wrapped cookies and brownies to the owner, asking that she share it with her staff and residents. The owner never even acknowledged our gift. In my opinion, this goes to her character. My understanding is that Nicole just recently took over this business from her parents. So it seems that she still has a lot to learn. But don’t sacrifice your elderly family member for her education. I felt badly for the residents there who didn’t have family members looking out for their care and wellbeing. Unfortunately, I cannot in good conscience recommend Colonial Manor at Panther Valley.

Colonial Manor at Panther Valley was wonderful. We're hoping that my dad could go back there. They're clean and absolutely gorgeous. We really liked that place. It's an excellent, friendly, and caring facility. They've got beautiful rooms and activities for him, it's spotless, and they've got nice good meals. They were very helpful. Whenever we needed extra care, they were there.
