The staff , aides, are excellent. The physical therapy department which is available to residents, are AMAZING! They worked a miracle with me, helped me reach a level of independence no one thought possible 3 years ago. The meals are okay, some very good, some not so much, but the dining room staff are accommodating. The activities directors are wonderful and theres plenty of planned gatherings and activities. Again, the aides who work directly with residents are second to none. But theres alot of turnovers on the RN staff and Housing Directors.

My mother is in The Gardens at St. Gertrude's. It's excellent. The rooms are pretty spacious, clean, liveable, nice, and comfortable. The staff is excellent. They have bingo, bunko, doing your nails, and walks. The food is very delicious. The dining room has white tablecloths and it's very pretty.

We visited the Gardens at St. Gertrudes assisted living facility while in the Shakopee area. Our aunt requires more care than our family can provide, so it is time to find a good home for her. The grounds were nice and we could see that residents could enjoy the ample outdoor area. The decor was homey, but sill modern, which we liked. This reflects what our aunt likes, too. There were nicely appointed lounges and many places to relax and enjoy with friends, family and neighbors. The gardens and gazebo featured beautiful flowers. The amenities offered include anything that an assisted living facility should have, but also additional services like individualized exercise programs and well care. The entire facility looked secure, but still comfortable. The menus looked appetizing and the snacks looked just as good. They provide weekly housekeeping and linen services. We liked that all utilities are also included in the monthly rental. The common areas have Satellite TV so that it is unnecessary to have it in your rooms if you'd rather save the fees. Our aunt doesn't watch much tv, so that would be adequate for her. All of the apartment homes were well-designed and looked very comfortable. They seemed to be practically full, which is a good sign. There is a waiting list for many of their residences. Each living area included convenient kitchens and appliances. Those who prefer communal dining can enjoy the many food options that are restaurant style. The large bathrooms all had walk-in showers. Another feature we really liked was that each resident is given a pendant to access their 24 hour emergency system. There was also a chapel, religious services offered, exercise classes and many other kinds of fun social activities. The beauty salon and barber is also available for all residents. A very nice place for elders of all kinds to live.
