I've got a friend at Mill City Senior Living and she's got a one-bedroom apartment in assisted living. Her package includes meals and they've got 24-hour nurses available and so forth. They also have what they call independent living. It's quite new. It's probably a three- or four-year-old building. It's got a large reception area and it's got security. You don't get in without some kind of a key or a code and proper identification. It's got two dining rooms and private dining rooms on the first floor. It's got activity rooms on the second and third floors. It's got four or five elevators. They have the restaurant open so the residents can come down and eat because it's part of their package. It's also serviced to the public, so if you've got a visitor or if you don't have meals as part of your package, you can come down and just buy a meal. There's indoor parking for 20 vehicles. The indoor parking is a $100 a month ticket. For those who don't want indoor parking, there are plenty of asphalt parking spaces outside. My friend's apartment has its own kitchen, its own washer and dryer, a walk-in closet, a full bath, and the bedroom and the living room are about the same size. They've got one-bedrooms, studios, and two-bedrooms. My friend pays $100 for the indoor parking for her car. Everything else comes out of her SSI. They take 900 some dollars and what's left is hers. Her apartment itself without any services as far as pricing is like $2700 a month. She has an optional meal service. The facility is excellent. It's clean and maintained beautifully.

We went to Mill City Senior Living. My father liked it, and it's very close to where my sister lives. She lives in the housing development right next to it. They were friendly, and they showed us everything. We saw absolutely everything in the place. We talked to some other people that lived there, and they said it was great. Everybody was very friendly and nice. It's fairly new place and very modern. I believe it's only a few years old, so it was very, very nice. It was perfect. My sister lives right next to the place, and it is perfect. She basically has to go by it to get home, so it was convenient for her to stop in and check on my father a lot; that is why we chose it. It is in a good location in Faribault.

I did an in-person walkthrough of Mill City Senior Living. It was at the total opposite end of Faribault, way on the northwest side, but it was a very beautiful place. I really, really liked it; it's just the location. The staff was very nice, and she gave me a very nice tour of the place. They had very nice apartments with large bathrooms. The rooms were about the same size as the other place I saw. They had a workout room for people to go in and work out and for sitting exercises and stuff.
