"I liked Ecumen Sand Prairie. The people that I met there were friendly. It's just that at the time, they were having a COVID outbreak. They weren't accepting any new people. They had an activities room for the residents with a community puzzle table. They had a small library there, too. It seemed to be clean and well-kept. The lady that toured me was real friendly and was real good about answering all the questions that I had. She did a good job of showing me around the place. The dining area was clean. The lighting was good, and there was plenty of space there."

"We toured Old Main Village. It was beautiful. I would move in. It was fantastic. It's an older building. It used to be our college here in town, which they made into assisted living now. It is very well kept up, very nicely arranged, and very beautiful. It's a nice place. We were very impressed. The person that gave us the tour was excellent. The dining area looked very nice. It looked like a nice restaurant. The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and personable."

"My mom is living in Ecumen Prairie Hill currently. It is an assisted living with memory care unit attached. It is two years old and it is part of a corporation here in Minnesota. The facility is like a beautiful posh hotel when you walk in. It is just gorgeous and very contemporary. We live in St. Peter so it is close to us. We also like their memory care unit because they only have 12 people and there are two or three attendants to care for those 12 people at all times. So that's a lot more than in a nursing home. The unit is not yet regulated by the government, so they can have many people as they want to care for the people and it is wonderful. I would absolutely recommend this to others. The only thing I think they could improve on is the training and coordinating of their staff, which they are still doing. Because they are quite new, they are getting more nurses, RNs on-duty 24 hours, and LPNs in their memory care besides the other aides. "

"Benedictine Living has a continuum of service. My brother-in-law started there in assisted living. And there, they have assisted living units that are furnished, so you don't have to provide your own furniture. They provide all the meals and nursing people come in and make sure you take your meds and they evaluate you initially. So there's a nurse involved to check on you daily. They provide the thing that hangs around your neck, that's like an alarm or as a bell. But it turns out that he doesn't need all the nursing services. They were very accommodating. After the first half of the month when he was there, they moved him to a less expensive independent unit. And they provided him with the furniture he needed to stay there, which was wonderful. At that point, he paid separately for his meals. They had a $1000 sign-in fee, and they even waived to keep him there for a short time. They're brand new and they're right next to the hospital. Their staff couldn't have been nicer. My brother-in-law is very picky, and he thought the food was great. They have activities."

"My sister stayed at Colony Court. It's an older building, but it was kept up well, but it was kind of confusing if you are in a memory unit as the hallways all looked the same. Her room was large, and it had a lot of room. They had some changeover, but the staff was good. They had a lot of activities. They had games. They had bingo. They had people come in and do a couple of church services a week. They brought in music people to play and entertain. There were two dining areas, so it was split up a little bit, but the food was good. They didn't have as many activities on the weekends. That's the only downfall."

"We are in Faribault Senior Living. They're very accommodating here and the people that live here seem to be pretty friendly. The food is good. It's not a real busy area. There's a highway out front, but it's pretty quiet here. The facility is very good. The only thing I ever do with them is play bingo. Some of the other places are higher priced and everybody seems to rate this place pretty well."

"I've got a friend at Mill City Senior Living and she's got a one-bedroom apartment in assisted living. Her package includes meals and they've got 24-hour nurses available and so forth. They also have what they call independent living. It's quite new. It's probably a three- or four-year-old building. It's got a large reception area and it's got security. You don't get in without some kind of a key or a code and proper identification. It's got two dining rooms and private dining rooms on the first floor. It's got activity rooms on the second and third floors. It's got four or five elevators. They have the restaurant open so the residents can come down and eat because it's part of their package. It's also serviced to the public, so if you've got a visitor or if you don't have meals as part of your package, you can come down and just buy a meal. There's indoor parking for 20 vehicles. The indoor parking is a $100 a month ticket. For those who don't want indoor parking, there are plenty of asphalt parking spaces outside. My friend's apartment has its own kitchen, its own washer and dryer, a walk-in closet, a full bath, and the bedroom and the living room are about the same size. They've got one-bedrooms, studios, and two-bedrooms. My friend pays $100 for the indoor parking for her car. Everything else comes out of her SSI. They take 900 some dollars and what's left is hers. Her apartment itself without any services as far as pricing is like $2700 a month. She has an optional meal service. The facility is excellent. It's clean and maintained beautifully."
