"My wife is in Brookdale Faribault for respite. It's a good place, they're all expensive of course, but the quality is good. She gets her meals and the food is good, they have a lounge room, they play bingo, and stuff like that, so they have activities, and they have a big TV set down there. I was looking for some place in town. Brookdale was convenient and it had an opening."

"I liked pretty much everything about Ecumen Brooks other than it's a big place, so the walking would have been tough for my mom. The staff was pleasant and she gave us a good tour. They had a nice courtyard and a beauty salon. The place was very nice and very pleasant. It was located not too far from a hospital, and there were restaurants in the area, too."

"I was at Benedictine Living twice and I liked it, but they didn't have any openings. The rooms were very nice. It's bright and brand new. When you come in the front doors, it's kind of like walking into a hotel with a high ceiling. It's very nice. The rooms in the assisted living had a refrigerator and a stove. Memory care has nothing, of course. They wouldn't need appliances anyway because most people in memory care don't know how to do anything. My husband can't do anything except getting cereal and milk out of the refrigerator. It's a nice place. The staff during the tour was super nice. It's super clean."

"My mother-in-law has moved into Timberdale Trace. They do a very good job there, and I can't complain. I like that she's safe there, and she's taken care of. The staff is very nice. They let me know if they need something for her. I took her for an eye exam and they transported her there, so I did not have to do that. There's no fee for that, and I thought that was wonderful. My mother-in-law says the food needs a little help. Other than that, I think she feels pretty safe there and that's the most important thing to me. I've eaten there when they had parties and stuff, and I thought the food was OK. For what they're doing, they're doing great. They have a list of everything that's going on. At 2:00, they have coffee and cookies. They do go out. They ate at Perkins last week. If you want to, you can go. I think it's a nice place compared to some I have seen. And it's a smaller community also, which is nice that they kind of get to know each other."

"Our family, our grandmother included, really liked Countryside as not only a place to live, but as a place to belong. It offered both independent and assisted living options so we knew as out grandmother's health declined and she needed more help. This was perfect for us because most of the family lives 45 minutes away.The staff was very friendly and everyone knew the residents names, including the groundskeeper. Each time we would visit the staff would know who we were and who we were going to see. This was a very personal connection and I felt the staff really cared. The staff also hosted events for the residents almost daily. Bingo, movies, theme parties, and many other activities helped my grandmother to stay sharp and happy. We did dine there on occasion and I have to say the food was pretty good. I remember going to other retirement homes to see my great grandmother and that food was slop compared to the pork chops and stuffing, spare ribs, fried chicken, and other real meals we had at countryside. "

"I went to New Perspective Senior Living. I like the staff very well. We had a very good interview, and I was able to tour that place in person. They did not have restrictions to go look through it, so that helped, too. I like the lady who's in charge of it. The facility looked nice and clean. She showed me one of the rooms, and it's a decent size, and it's got a nice bathroom and a closet space. It's just easy access from here to Faribault. It's a 15-minute drive, and it's about the closest there is. They gave me a menu of what they serve over there, and my father will probably eat better over there than I feed him."

"I did an in-person walkthrough of Mill City Senior Living. It was at the total opposite end of Faribault, way on the northwest side, but it was a very beautiful place. I really, really liked it; it's just the location. The staff was very nice, and she gave me a very nice tour of the place. They had very nice apartments with large bathrooms. The rooms were about the same size as the other place I saw. They had a workout room for people to go in and work out and for sitting exercises and stuff."

"My client is in the memory care of Milestone Senior Living. The facility is beautiful, but there has been a huge turnover of staff, and the consistency of the administration of nursing has not been consistent. They have private rooms with their own bathroom and showers, a twin-size bed, and a chair. The family decorated the room, so it was very comfortable and personable. The grounds are beautiful and conveniently located by the clinic and hospital."
