The rooms are outdated and they stink Residents don’t get showers and smell really bad , they’re always itching .. food is not edible. Walls have cracks and holes . Nursing act irritated when having to do their jobs.

The rooms were kept clean, bright, and spacious. The food was very good. They had a team of food specialists who were able to prepare meals for special diets. There was regular communication with the nurses concerning my relative's care. The physical therapists were the reason my aunt was able to walk again, after having been hospitalized for months with blood clots.

The rooms are spacious, well-staffed, and clean. There is a great rehabilitation staff that provides outstanding care for their patients. My uncle was a patient there, for rehabilitation and he and my family were impresses of the knowledge, experience, and professionalism of the physical therapists/nurses.

My aunt moved into Hyattsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. It does not smell bad. The staff seems to be nice to her. But it's a very old building and the carpet is worn. They need to pull the carpet out because it is badly stained. She has a roommate, and their room is pretty nice. It's a small room with one bathroom. It looks clean. She has her own dresser where she puts her clothes. Other than that, there is no extra furniture in there for anybody to sit down, so when I go in to see her, I have to sit on her bed. To me, it looks more like an unkept hospital. That's what it reminds me of. My aunt likes the food. She said they gave her too much. She doesn't eat a lot, but they put a lot of food on her plate and so in her mind she feels like she has to eat it all, which will make her sick. She has to make a request and let them know these things, but she seemed to be reluctant to do it. I had to step in and mention the fact that she's not supposed to have all this stuff on her plate. I'm so far away that I can't do too much on a daily basis. I have to ask for what I need or request them to do something. No one's pushing anything. They are just sitting around waiting. I had a meeting with the business office to settle down the financial part of it. The person I'm supposed to be meeting with had an emergency and no one called me. I'm in D.C. and it was a $38 ride. I was on my way there when I got word that the person was not going to show up. That's inconvenient for me and that was very inconsiderate. My aunt is on Medicaid/Medicare. Unfortunately, with nursing homes, they're going to take all of her money and then give her $100 a month. She says it is not good, but they're not giving me any other choices. I think they're going to get $800 for that space. I'm not pleased with her being there overall.

This place is the worst , I was there a little over a week and hated every day that I woke up realizing I was still there.theres not enough space to write all my dislikes for this place.food, conditions of the room, staff, lack of knowledge by those who are there to take care of you. Not a place for love one's

Hyattsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was terrible. The staff members were decent, but the facility was like a dump. I wouldn't leave my dog there. They're not able to manage the patients. They're stuck in a room, and they are bedbound. My husband went in there from a hospital visit. They sent him there, and I took him out immediately. He was checked in, but when I got there and saw what it was like, I checked him out immediately. He stayed for only 24 hours.

This is the absolute worst place for people who are in their most vulnerable state. The staff are untrained and uncaring. The place is filthy and smells of urine the moment you get off the elevator on the bottom floor. Once I found wipes full of poop under my father’s sheet and up against him. There was also trash in his bed. They don’t bathe patients or even feed them on schedule. Very poor quality of care. My father was given food that had expired 3 years ago.
