I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I went to Stonebridge Place because my ex-husband's brother and sister-in-law already reside there. I booked an appointment because I was hoping to get him there as well. They gave me a tour. It's nice. It's one huge facility. Everybody has their own private apartment. You have a kitchenette, dining area, a little den area or a living area, and then a seperate bedroom. They have a huge dining room downstairs where everybody congregates to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also have different types of events that take place to entertain their residents there. They have a hair salon and a place for people to worship. It's everything you want in one place. They also provide 24/7 medical help as required. The memory care facility is on a different wing. It was nice and clean. There's a little patio garden area. I've only interacted with a couple of staff, one was the manager who graciously showed me around. You can go down and have a hot meal and you can also keep stuff in your apartment because they have a little kitchenette. None of that is taken from you. My relatives and I laughed and talked about old times, so that reassured me that they were fine. At the time, people were moving around somewhere outside in the garden, talking amongst themselves, because it was pretty hot that day. Most of them were inside. It's very expensive. It's a private facility, and you get what you pay for. It's a nice facility, but it comes with a hefty monthly charge of about $4000. I know that's what the running rate is because I've already compared it. They're in a room together in an apartment-like setting together and they're not charging them per head. As a couple, there's a different rate.

I have a friend in Stonebridge Place. She has been there for two months now. I love the people there. When you walk into the memory area, it's not as beautiful as the other places, but it's functional and all the people are great. Everybody there is awesome. I even know some of the residents from visiting my friend. It's very nice. The dining areas are beautiful. Their furniture is awesome. Everybody that I've met goes out of their way. They're very good and very attentive to the patients. The food looked pretty good. They don't have a big activity room, but they have an activity director and I've seen her at work in there. My friend has done crafts and stuff, so they have a multitude of things with everyone. They don't let them stay in their rooms unless they choose to go back to their rooms.

I visited this facility

I toured Stonebridge Place. The staff was nice. The place itself was nice looking and clean. It seemed a little small on the inside. The apartment was just like a little studio apartment. It just didn't seem like they had everything that I was looking for. I felt like my mom just needed a little more. I saw a little activities room for arts and crafts, but there was no big workout area for physical therapy. When I walked in, I just had this kind of cluttered feeling. Even though it was open, I just had this claustrophobic feeling to me when I went in there. The lady that I talked to was nice, but everybody else just seemed kind of standoffish.

I visited this facility

I toured Stonebridge Place and it was very nice. But then the more we thought about it, the more we realized my husband needed more help than they could give us. He's wheelchair-bound and he needed more help than they could furnish. It looked very nice and was convenient for everything. The apartment was nice enough. The staff was very nice and helpful. They had an area out front. We were going to have a 2-bedroom because he is in a hospital bed, but they didn't have a 2-bedroom available right then. We were going to have to go into a 1-bedroom until a 2-bedroom became available, and that wasn't going to work for us. That would have been a little tight.

I visited this facility

I went to Stonebridge Place. Well, there weren't many people there. I mean, Lake Charles was still recovering from the hurricanes. It was fine, we didn't have any problems with it. I mean, they were nice. The staff was great. They showed us a one-bedroom apartment. It was fine. I just don't think the parents were ready to move in. The dining room was excellent.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I've been at Stonebridge Place for the past three years. It was a real nice place to live. I liked it, but some changes were made with the staff and the administrator in the last year and things kind of went downhill. Then we had the hurricane and it kind of demolished it almost, so it's in a state of repair right now. It's an assisted living, and they have an Alzheimer's unit separately. It's all the same building, but it's attached. You have those that are capable of doing for themselves and those that need help. Whatever extra help you need, you pay for. They had private rooms and they had some 2-bedrooms. The private rooms had a small kitchenette, bath, and one bedroom. There were activities. We had an activity director, she kept things going, and she was really good in her job, but I don't think she's gonna be with us any longer. The food sucks because I'm a southerner, but it is hard to please 100 or so people. The price was a little high, but it wasn't the highest one in Lake Charles. After my daughter visited them all, we decided money wise and convenience, that this was my best fit, and the staff was very nice.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother-in-law is a resident of Stonebridge Place. They provide her with medicine administration, they clean her apartment, and they provide three meals a day. They have a lot of activities, they take them to doctors' appointments, and to the store. I have been there several times, and it's very nice. It's very elegant, clean, and the staff is very friendly. I would definitely recommend it. The food is great.

Everything is going fine so far at Stonebridge Place. Everything is wonderful and it's very bright. My mom eats the food and its really good. The people are helpful and very good. They do a good job. They give them a choice of food and they pick from off a menu. They have a fresh salad bar. They have bingo, karaoke, and church functions.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom has been in Stonebridge Place for five years. It is very nice. The staff is helpful and do whatever they can for them. They have a nice dining room and large apartments. They have three meals a day and snacks. If she needs assistance, all she has to do is press a button. I can have lunch and sit with her whenever I want. It is very nice and clean. The activities are limited. They play bingo, have bands play music, and do paintings.

I visited this facility

The rooms at Stonebridge were more like apartments and they are very nice. He could have a living room, a bedroom, and a nice bathroom. He really liked the place and wants to go to this one. They provided three meals and had activities. It’s not far from Wal-Mart and the grocery stores. They had the transit bus. They were very nice and very concerned.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother is in Stonebridge Place now. It is very nice. There are a lot of activities and field trips to different places. If you need to go, they will bring you to your doctor’s appointment. There are a lot of people that we know that are there. They serve three meals a day, administer medicine as many times as she needs it, clean her apartment for her, and wash her clothes. It is really a nice place. They have an ice cream machine out all of the time and cookies and different things during the day. The place is very nice and clean. They take good care of her. If you don’t come to lunch, they will check on you, make sure you are OK, and find out why you are not eating. If my mother’s doesn’t come out, they bring the food to her.

I visited this facility

The rooms at Stonebridge Place were gorgeous. They were very large. The staff was very calm and accommodating. It was a beautiful place, and the people looked happy. I thought it was just wonderful. They had exercise, and they had arts. They have an ice cream parlor. On certain days, they have transportation to and from the store for like snacks and stuff. They have menu that they filled out. It was just really super nice.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

We placed my mom at Stonebridge. Overall, it was a bright facility. It did not have a nursing facility, and it turned out she needed skilled nursing. So we ended up putting her in a hospital and eventually hospice. However, the people at Stonebridge were wonderful. The food was very good. The room was like a little apartment. It was very nice, well-kept, and it was in good shape. As a matter of fact, I thought it was a fairly new wing of that particular facility. I would highly recommend it.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I decided to use Stonebridge Place. I checked all of the facilities in my area, and that is the one I liked the best. It is suitable for my dad. It is all great. In fact, when I first got there, the director that was going to tour me around was busy, so I got to chat with a couple of the ladies there in the little coffee shop and they started showing me around, which I thought was a great, positive thing. They were very friendly and very eager to show and tell me their experiences. The rooms are very nice. They have a one-bedroom apartment situation. It is a very nice facility. It is only seven years old, it is up-to-date, and people are still pretty active for the most part. They have lots of entertainment that is going on once or twice a week, and they take them on a ride to Wal-mart on Mondays. Dad is adapting very well. He loves the food; he says it is like going to a restaurant every day. In fact, he was telling me that he has got to cut back a little because the food is too good and his pants are getting tight. I think the one thing my dad would wish is that their evening meal was served a little later, not so early. One thing that I would suggest, because my dad is on the second floor and there is only one elevator, is that it would probably be good if they had two, so if one broke they would have a backup.
