We moved into Homestead Estates of Wichita. I like that we have our own separate independent living quarters from the assisted living. It's like a duplex, but it's like a five-plex, and it's nice, clean, and well-maintained. It's very adequate. We did downsize, but we have two bedrooms and two baths and everything fits just fine. The staff is extremely friendly and very welcoming. We have bingo, dominos, movie times during the day, exercise time, singalong time, morning walks, matinees, water aerobics, nail care, and bible studies. The food is very, very good. In fact, it's too much food.

I chose Homestead Estates of Wichita. It's great. We like the rooms and the aesthetics of the whole layout of the building. It's really good. The staff was great, good people. They cook all your food. They do your laundry and they clean your room. They have a library, courtyard, and a little movie theater. They've got everything you need.

I went to Homestead Estates of Wichita. It's a nice place, and the people are nice, it's just I couldn't afford it. It was clean, and it smelled nice. The people were friendly. They greeted me right away. It was everything I would have wanted. They have these little cottages, but I just couldn't afford them. The unit I saw was a two-bedroom apartment; I like that they call it a cottage. It has two bedrooms, it's got a washer and dryer, and it's got a kitchen. They provide everything except the microwave. They have blinds on the windows, so you've got window fixings. It's fully carpeted except the kitchen and the bathroom. They had a walk-in bath and then they had a tub. The dining area was nice. They furnished all meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There's a lot available in terms of activities. They have an exercise pool, they come in and have classes during the week, and they have movies on Saturday. If you live in independent living, you also have the access to all the benefits that assisted living has.

We have lost confidence in this facility for being able to care for my parent who has been there more than 2 years. Staff hours have been cut which has contributed to a gross lack of care. Several reliable employees have "moved on." New hires are mostly ignorant or lazy. Access to the facility is a challenge. Management is not very active within the community. We are paying nearly $5000 and have to have a family member present on a daily basis to ensure proper care .

It really fits what my mother wants better than other places. They have sort of individual apartments spread throughout the grounds. The only negative, especially in winter is having to walk from your apartment to the eating facilities. It could be a challenge with ice and snow. Other than that, the facilities were nice and mom appreciated the layout of the place. The staff who helped us during the tour was also very nice. They have an area you can go in and exercise, a library, and coordinated activities.

I didn't like that it was just kind of added onto the facility. It was like a metal door that you went through to get into it, unlike the others where it's a separate facility, and it was kind of dark. The staff was really good, welcoming, and kind. The rooms were nice and big. The facility was clean, the dining area seemed nice, and it was right up at the front. It's just not what we needed.

It was a busy community and a lot of activities were going on. My father needed something quieter and smaller. It was a lot larger than where he is currently, but everybody was nice. The cleanliness and the staff were excellent. The apartment was very spacious and clean, but it just wasn't right for him.

It is one of those at the top of our list. We visited the independent living level. We like that they had individual cottages, and the parking was right in front of our door. We also liked that it's a short walk across the drive to the dining room, and they had an indoor pool which was nice and appealing. The rooms were nice and the manager there was very helpful. We spoke with her several times, and we were trying to sell our RV and she even offered to help us with that. The rooms had kitchenettes, a stove, refrigerator, microwave, sink and a few small cabinets, but they were fine and very doable. The staff was very nice, they showed us around and my husband was having a little trouble walking that day so they put him in a wheelchair and wheeled him around. Everyone was very kind and helpful. They had a lot of activities and they put out a newsletter that tells you what's going on for that month. There were crafts you can do if you wanted to, and they did outings. They had a small bus that would take them on day trips to the casino or go out to eat. If you didn't drive that would have been nice.

It looked nice and welcoming. It had nice spacious areas where you can sit and read a book or visit with somebody. The staff that I met was very cordial. I didn't have any problem finding a parking space. It was open.

We went here, and they have not pressured us, but they have stayed in touch. They answered any questions we may have, have been very upfront in what we can get and what we can't get, and have been very accommodating. They have little apartments along the outside, but you have to go inside for a meal. They have a dining hall, a movie theater, and a swimming pool. The gal that helped us was just really sweet. They have so many options available. You can pick different floor plans, which was very nice.

It was nicer and more up-to-date than the other place we visited. The people were very pleasant. They showed us around and I was very pleased with it. They have a little movie theater.

It was very good. I spoke with a very nice young lady there. We had an appointment, she was prompt, on time, and very informed. There was a minor emergency with one of the residents at the time and I was very impressed with how they reacted. During the tour I was introduced to a couple of the residents. I was also introduced to every staff member that we passed. The staff was very nice. We toured the assisted living and the independent living areas. It was a nice facility. It was a very well-planned and executed tour. They offered us food, but I was in a little bit of a hurry, so I did not take them up on it.

I like Chaucer Estates. Some members of the staff care for the residents, but some do not. I like the ones that care for the people because they're not just there for the money; they're there for the care. The food is excellent. I would say 80% of the employees keep the place up and keep it running smooth. The dining area is clean, and they have a good cook. I would give the memory care a rating of 1.5 because they keep it closed up, and the whole place smelled. But the other part of the place, I would give it a 4 because everything they have there is OK.

My mother-in-law was placed here. Everything was fantastic. She was and we were very pleased with the staff and with her surroundings. It took her no time to feel at home there. She enjoyed the company of the staff and made a couple of friends to eat dinner and lunch with. We tasted the food a few times, and it was very good.

It was very nice, clean, and upscale. The people were very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very nice. There was nothing wrong with the property at all. I saw a 1-bedroom and a studio, and both of them were very nicely laid out with plenty of room.

It was nice and very clean. They did puzzles. They had a library, and they had movies. They showed me an apartment with two bedrooms and two baths. It was a little small. The staff was good and informative. They had a vehicle that would take you to doctor's appointments.

It was wonderful, and my mother-in-law actually was in assisted living there. The thing that was lacking was there wasn't a surrounded secure outdoor area. They did have a swimming pool. The people were kind, and the rooms were nice, new, and spacious. There just wasn't any provision for being outdoors in a secure place.

They are very friendly and helpful. The staff is very good and treat my brother very well. He is very happy there. His room is excellent. He likes the food and is getting in a lot of social interactions. When I talked to the business manager, they were very understanding of our situation and willing to accommodate me so that we can get things done.

Our favorite one was here. It was nice. We got to visit the staff and tour the rooms, and this was the one that they wanted to go into. The rooms were nicer than other facilities. They were a little larger and had their own kitchenette in them for assisted living people. I liked their food and the dining facility; it felt more like a big restaurant. They actually had an indoor swimming pool where they could do water aerobics, so it wasn’t open for them to just swim in. They could do some classes there; it was really nice. They also would allow my parents to keep their little dogs with them.

I put my parents in here for two weeks. We came down to like two or three of them, and when the time actually came, and it needed to happen that day, they were able to make it happen. They also knew that it was probably be only for two weeks. They were great. Maybe they should have better access for the clients to get coffee and things like that.
