My dad is at a new facility called Emerald Haven. It's very small and more like a group home. For people who are mobile and very high functioning, it's a fine place, but if they have any health issues, I can't recommend it. The only meal I've had there was a Christmas meal, and I had to cook it. However, a lot of the residents don't like it because they have to share a bathroom with someone. The house itself is very nice, comfortable, and very pretty. It's an open concept with a very nice kitchen/dining area and a fireplace in the living room. However, they have like fifteen people in there who have come and gone, and part of the problem there is that no one knows who works there and who doesn't. Also some of them are not trained to work with senior citizens or senior citizens with issues, but they have a manager who is doing her best, and she is very good. They are supposed to have activities, but so far, the only one I've seen is a jigsaw puzzle.
