"I brought my mother up from Florida six years ago to live at Augustana Chapel View. My mother had a stroke in Florida and lost the use of her left side and has very limited ability to care for herself. The staff at Chapel View have always been helpful, committed and so good to my mother. Occasionally there is an issue of some sort and that issue takes a bit to sort out however everyone seems committed to finding a solution. I can not say how much I appreciate the care and companionship that the staff has given my mother. That is her community where she lives 24/7 and she has made so many friends. I will say, that some of that is due to my mother who has always been agreeable, co-operative and caring herself. Mom loves the activities...especially Bingo and the auctions...and the games and music etc. Is Chapel View a perfect solution...no. I would love to be able to have her with me but that is not possible. Mom seems happy at Chapel View."

"I moved my mother to Ridgepointe Senior Housing. It is a great place. She loves it and she's very happy there. The staff is very friendly, they food is awesome, and the atmosphere is great. "

"We chose Covenant Living of Golden Valley. We liked how happy everyone was, the involvement of people in the community, and the interactions that people had with each other. The residents were just interactive, happy, and welcoming. It just depends which room you get. Some have laundry, some don't, and it depends on the size of the room. But one thing about them, there's a buy-in option, but you can redecorate your room how you want it before you move in."

"Ecumen was nice. The staff was friendly. It was a nice place. There was somebody there to greet you. We looked at the rooms, and they were nice. They had one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms and studio apartments. It was a nice location, and it was a nice setting. The dining area was very nice, too. "

"My mom is in the memory care of Cornerstone Assisted Living and Memory Care. The biggest thing right now that I would say is they have a high level of staffing, and then their flexibility to work with an advocate on the care plan specific to that individual. The appearance of the place it's nice. It's accommodating. It's clean, and I think the facility is managed well. The upkeep of the place is very satisfactory to my standards. For the folks that are in memory care, I feel they need a little more one-on-one stimulation. It's a well-kept, large community. I specifically like the size of my mother's room. It is very close, comfortable, and accommodating."

"The rooms are older and small. The care is moderately good. The biggest complaint is that we purchased new comfortable clothing for him and within a week all but one item we purchased “disappeared” never to be seen again. They also “lost” a sweatshirt that was very dear to him. It is obvious that they randomly distribute clothing to other patients as we often arrived and he was wearing items that were not his own. I would be very wary of this place."

"Spero Lakeville Senior Living is very clean and tidy. It has a nice aroma. The apartments are beautiful. They only have 55, and we found it to be a very nice place. It's by Lakeville North High School, and it's only four years old. The staff who gave the tour was very knowledgeable and very helpful. They have several group areas to meet in with different types of overstuffed chairs. Some of the rooms have little electric fireplaces. There is a library. There is also a theater area. Their dining area is very roomy and very bright. There are lots of windows. I would definitely move there, but we have other places to look at. The facility is very nice. They don't have enough underground parking for everybody, but they're trying to resolve that."

"I've toured the Walker Methodist Highview Hills, which is fairly new. It was a very exquisite place and had a workshop and a craft room where they had all kinds of hands-on and electric tools. They had a most beautiful, adoring dining room with a lovely kitchen right out front with like an old-time snack bar right in front of the kitchen where you could sit. They had lovely storage rooms and the rooms were smaller, they weren't big enough. But for all the amenities that they have, it's just way too expensive for us. It's right across from a ball field where adults and children play. It's a lovely place, but it's just way out of our price range. The person who gave the tour was a very nice person, but she was in a hurry to get us through because my husband had to sit down once. They offered us a meal but we declined when we found out the price. They had a library, a music room, a religious area, a crafts room, a salon, and underground parking. They also have storage, and they have a bus that drives you to places."

"Main Street Manor is very clean and very quiet. People here are very friendly. I have a two-bedroom unit and it's got lots of space. I really liked it and I think it was reasonable. There's a lot of things within walking distance, like shopping and restaurants. Inside the building, residents are playing bingo and other games, and sometimes doing potlucks. It's very nice."

"The Fountains at Hosanna was beautiful, but I don’t know about the care because my mom was never there. It was a really nice facility and beautiful but more expensive. It was only a couple of years old, so it’s a very nice facility. Everything was very nice and clean. It’s connected with my church, so I love it because my church is amazing. It was very nice that they took the residents to church. I love that. "

"One other place that I did like is Kingsley Shores Senior Living. However, they didn't have storage space. I felt they had more cupboard space than closet space. The facility was very nice, the people were very nice and all that, but in order to get the things that I wish to take with me, I have to have a bigger apartment. The closet space was not adequate. However, I did like the people and so forth. "

"I have moved into Gramercy Club at Burnhaven Drive. It's friendly. It has lots of things going on all the time. It's got a wonderful pool with exercises three times a week. It just meets all my needs. I haven't been here that long, but the staff are wonderful, friendly, and helpful. They have a library, they have Bible study, they have get-togethers all the time, and there's places close by for hair."

"The couple that I took to Apple Valley Villa liked it. It is an older facility, but spacious, and everything looked good. The staff were friendly and informative. I observed bingo, some music playing, some watching movies, and cards. "

"The atmosphere seemed very nice and calm. The facility seemed very clean, but more home-like than sterile. There was a nice walking path and the residents seemed to enjoy themselves. The only complaint from the person I visited was that the food could be better at times. Overall she said that she enjoyed the facility and was an active member in several activity groups on the grounds. She seemed to have many friends that she interacted with, which was one of the concerns when selecting a facility for her to stay in. She was particularly active in gardening and knitting, so it was nice to see that she made friends with similar interests.From my brief visit and interaction with a resident I would rate this facility highly. It seems cleaner, more welcoming, and more active than several other places that I have visited in the area and the residents seem to have a good opinion of the services provided. My girlfriend's grandmother made several new friends in the past several months that she has been staying at the facility, and I have heard no major complaints regarding her care. "
