"The thing I liked best about The Village of Spring Meadows was that it was very independent, and had a detached 1-car garage, so my mom could remain independent with her vehicle, but they did not have those available. The condos did not have any type of activities. But they did have the apartment complex, which was independent living apartments, and those did offer community events, but she didn't qualify. The staff was very helpful, very friendly, and very knowledgeable. It was very well kept and very well maintained."

"I looked at Arbor North yesterday. It was very nice, neat, and clean, and organized. They have nice apartments. The staff was nice and thorough. We've seen the laundry room, the beauty parlor, and the cafeteria. The dining area looked clean and organized."

"It was so hard on the family when dad was not able to take care of himself. It was even harder when the family had to figure out a schedule in order to give him 24-hour care. When my wife and I wanted to go out on "date night" or "weekend getaways" we found it so hard to get quality care. Pharaoh's Rest Haven was referred to us by a member in our church. We have not looked back since, PRH has given my wife & I our love life back. It is so refreshing to know that my dad is receiving exceptional care. Not to mention the food is amazing, everything is cooked with love!"

"I only met one staff member at Brooklyn Living Center, and they were very friendly and very helpful. It seemed very nice. I went while everybody was eating lunch, so I didn't get to talk to many people. The rooms were beautiful. I saw the menu for the day, and it sounded very good. The food is really good there. They had Wii Bowling and bingo of course. They go on shopping trips and go out to lunch sometimes. Every once in a while, they go out to dinner too. "

"My wife stayed at Chelsea Retirement Community. It was very good, and the medical staff seemed to be very good and met my wife's needs. The food looked very good. They had a really good staff who were courteous and took care of the patients' needs. They had activities like bingo. My wife liked the place and the staff. It was clean and well run. "

"We toured The Pines. The apartment that they showed me was small, and they had a lot fewer amenities compared to other places. They served no food in this facility. You either cook your own or order it in. They had a few things, like a book club and a crafts room, but not too much of anything else. The staff who assisted us during the tour was very nice and very helpful, and she answered all our questions. If you want to walk into town, there are sidewalks."

"Silver Maples is probably within 5 miles from home. The place is clean and the staff is pleasant. The residents that we ran across there seemed happy. "

"Great Lakes Christian Home was excellent. I was very impressed with the place. Everything was fine. I asked a couple of members there and they thought the food was fine. They have very few two-bedroom rooms there, but they showed me the one-bedroom, and it was very spacious, so I was very impressed with it. They just didn't have any opening at the time. They have a beautiful chapel, and they use that as a movie room, too. They have all kinds of recreational things going on here and there, and they have a huge room for activities. The lady that assisted me was very nice. She introduced me to other staff that went around and they seemed very nice, too. If my son was staying there in Holt, I would very much consider staying there. The building was very nicely kept, more modern, and newer than the other place."
