I went to River Crossing of Rockford. They are under new management, they're under a total rehab, they have private rooms, unlike any other one we went to that did not have private rooms. It cost more. They're not done with their rehab right now, so I saw it ten years ago when it was newer and know what it used to look like. No one's put any money into it, and now someone is. I visited this week. It's a newer facility, some of the other ones are 30 or 40 years old. You can still see the newness, and the design, and building, but it just needs paint and flooring. The materials are in the hallways, they just haven't been installed. It's the farthest from my house. It's a very safe neighborhood, it's a nice neighborhood, it's just farther for me to travel. The staff was very positive, very pleasant. I saw some employees interacting. They were just with each other and upbeat. It is the only facility in Rockford that is not for profit.

Be warned..This place is not where you want your loved one. My family member had not had a shower in two weeks everyone has excuses for everything. Lazy cnas and bad care. Very sad to hear the DON was no longer there. At least she cared. The administrator is a joke. She will tell you what you want to hear to make you happy but then does the opposite. Last week was in the facility and it smelled of urine down the hallway I had to use an inhaler. Room was dirty trash over flowing. All the nurses do is sit behind the desk ask for assistance and they looked at me as if I was a bother. I'm sure this is how they treat my mother if they are this way to the family. Don't bother talking to the administrator because she's a nut job and is useless. I question y my mother hasn't been receiving her meds...for 3 weeks they just forgot. Yes looking to move my mother. This place needs shut down !! Or get real nurses and cnas that want to work and an administrator that actually does something.

Rockford- DO NOT SEND A LOVED ONE HERE. Dirty, Incompetent staff. No protocol used for checking meds, no vitals checked, no physical therapy. They flat out don't do their jobs. Staff argues loudly in halls regularly about not doing things because it's not their job. Not understaffed either. Plenty of staff standing around. The only time we got a response was when were packing her up to get her out immediately. Patients and their caregivers have rights, don't let them bully you. Your gut is right, they should be shut down.

My grandma was in Rosewood a couple times. I don’t have a lot of bad things to say about it, though one time we did bring her home, and she was in a diaper for some reason that soaked through. Other than that, they did take care of her, and I don’t have any complaints about them. She had a nice, shared room. It was a nice place. The staff seemed to do a good job.

My mother went to Rosewood Nursing Home for two days and then she passed away. The care they gave her was good, but there was really nothing to compare it to because she only lived 2 more days.
