Staff will alienate families so they have control, and will force residents to sign paperwork they do not know what they are signing due to poor vision/hearing. Food is tolerable, but residents didn't even get dessert for Thanksgiving! Don't try to file a complaint. They are privately owned and have too many government inspectors in their pockets! Medical care is minimal, but the therapy division is actually quite good. Residents are never taken outside for sunshine and fresh air. Activities are nearly non-existent.

I wouldn't advise anyone to take their loved one anywhere else. Are you guaranteed a private room? No, but if there are issues they address them right away. I have been so impressed with the care the residents receive. The outpatient therapy is such a great addition to have once your mom or dad goes home, they can continue on with the same therapists. The kitchen offers to make you anything you want even if its not on the menu, and they monitor weight loss and have nutritionists that work with the residents. The Social Service director is so kind, she makes sure everyone who goes home has everything they would need. The administrator is so involved and knows everything that happens and really works to make sure each resident is successful and has everything they need. I have never encountered more caring nurses and CNA's. They have an amazing DON who is also a wound care specialists and the in house Nurse Practitioner is available any time you need her, she always takes the time to speak to residents and families and answers all their questions. I like that they invite the families to care meetings along with their loved one and they have them as often as needed. I couldn't say enough about the place, its really great.

We have had 2 family members in Alpine Fireside. We have paid over $330,000 for their care. Several times we had to question the amount of narcotics they were being given, with no response. After grandma's 2 diamond rings were stolen off her upon her death, Alpine would not call us back after multiple calls and letters. Even after filing a police report, still no call from Alpine. Then when we told them we would be holding the rent until someone contacted us, they had Mom change her power of medical so they could avoid dealing with us and con the sister who wouldn't fight for Mom. Looking for a new place for Mom now. DONT MOVE YOUR LOVED ONE TO ALPINE FIRESIDE! Way understaffed. Mom w Hadn't had a bath & stunk, and went from 114 to over 200 lbs in 2 years.
