I had my father in for a short rehab. It smelled bad. The administrator is lack luster. Your questions go unanswered. This facility lacks compassion. The room are cramped. Nothing is in the same place twice. The call lights go answered. His condition began to determinate 2 days after he got there. Stay away. Do not take a loved one here.i had to give it 1 star to rate it. My rating .... Minus 5 stars

I visited Heartland Healthcare of Champaign, IL in May of 2010. From the outside it looked decent enough but as I went inside I could tell it needed many changes. First of all, when you got to the third floor there was a stench of urine. I looked in the showers and they were full of used diapers and old towels strewn about. Call lights were going off and there definitely were not enough workers. The staff looked tired and I could tell they were overworked. The residents there did not look very happy and I was displeased overall at my visit. The only positive was seeing the dining hall. It was spacious and did not look too crowded, the food looked very good and the residents seemed to enjoy the food and being social with the other residents. Overall, I would not recommend this facility for anyone's loved one.
