"Brookdale Carrollton is the one I like the best. They seem to have what my dad needed. And they explained everything better to us than the other did. The food smelled good, too. The apartment we saw would be basically for a single adult man. I think it was great. It's all he needs. It was where he could move around and do what he needed to do. They showed us the big gathering room where they have activities. They showed us the dining room, and they have a library and things like that, too. It was clean. The staff members were great."

"We toured The Haven at Newnan. The room was very nice and comfortable. When we were there, they had an activities director who was working with residents, so that was nice to see. The memory care and assisted living residents do activities together. The facility was clean and nice. The workers, the crew, the maintenance, and everybody were very nice. They had a little therapy dog there that I liked, which was also nice. The staff was excellent, and they served three meals a day."

"We toured Brookdale Newnan. It was very attractive. We looked at the independent living section, and the quarters were nice with two bedrooms. The only thing we didn't like was the living room. Maybe the room was a little smaller than we expected, but the whole facility as a whole was very nice. The cafeteria was nice, and people were especially nice. It's very modern, up to date, and has safety features, like grab bars and stuff like that. It was a convenient location, so it was very nice. Sydney was excellent. The facility was very clean and they had a little balcony."

"I toured Creekside Pines Retirement Community. We walked through all the floors, and the rooms were nice. I liked their dining hall and how they set it up to eat and get drinks and things throughout the day. I have a cat, and there was a place where the pets could play. It had all kinds of amenities that would appeal to me as an older person. The people in the office were very nice, especially the person who took me around and showed me where everything was and where the laundry was done. They had one person who did all the laundry, and she also pulled it and brought it to your room. You can get a one-bedroom rather than just a studio, which quite a few have around here. I like that you could have a bedroom and a nice kitchen. The rooms were painted freshly, and there wasn't a dirty corner. Everything was in place. It's well taken care of, even though I didn't see many people rushing around to do things."

"We looked at Silver Comet Village. It was an amazing place. It probably was not the best fit for mom, because a lot of the residents in memory care didn't need as much care as she did, which is why we didn't choose it. They didn't accept her for that reason. She needed more care than the staff they had. But, it was all extremely nice, and you would get a lot for the money. The staff was over the top good, and the rooms were big and nice."

"I visited Pine Knoll Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. I saw their long-term care and the physical therapy part which they have separated. The first hallway is for people that don't need so much assistance and the second hallway is for ones that are pretty much bed-ridden. It was all in one building though. It's a nursing home but it looked like the patients were getting cared for. The staff was helpful. I saw one staff person go into a room and ask a lady if she wanted to go to the church service. She got her out of bed, put her in a wheelchair, and rolled her down there. It was very helpful and accommodating. The appearance of the place was fine. It's just that it's a nursing home so you get a lot of people just laying in bed or sitting in wheelchairs in the hallway and it's just depressing, but there's nothing you can do about it. It is what it is."

"My brother went to Carrollton Club. The place is very nice, very clean, and very quiet. I think they serve them one meal a day, and then they cook for the rest of it. They have their own kitchen and everything. It's a bedroom, a living room, and a full kitchen with a stove and refrigerator. They can have a pet. It's about $200 extra for a pet, just one and not over 20 pounds. It's convenient to the VA and pretty close to the hospital. They have bus service three days a week. They take you to the grocery store and to places that you need to go inside the county. I think it's a very good place. If I had to be by myself and have a place to live, I wouldn't mind living there. It's not like your house, of course, but I would feel safe there. Everyone that we've met over there has been very friendly and very cooperative. I didn't have any contact with the staff. My husband did, and he was pleased. They were easy to work with and very helpful. They have a cleaning service, a garbage service, and a laundry room (not in their apartment, but in the building that is convenient and very reasonably priced). I think he's going to be pleased there. He has to pay his electric bill. They have a lot of open spaces, dining rooms, and things that people can gather and associate with each other. I thought it was a nice setup."

"It was built back in the eighties and it's been in our county since we moved over here, so it's well established, right behind the major shopping areas. It's convenient to church. It has kind of an eighties look, townhouses, the main building, kind of those homes with fields and the grounds. It's real homey. I got a small apartment because it's just me. It's 600 square feet, but well designed, and all the spaces used well. It's real good for wheelchairs and walkers. The doors are wide enough. It's probably time to get more upgrades, but it's absolutely fine with us because we eat over at the main building anyway, so I don't do a lot of cooking or anything. The dining area is real nice. They take real good care of us and the food is good. It's not filet mignon, but it's all healthy, and it's all what we need. It's nutritious food and there's not a lot of sweets to make us not feel good. They try to take good care of us, and we get all our food groups for sure. It's always warm. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. It's a real happy place. Every day, you get to do bingo, you can do art, and you got different choices of different things you can do. You can go out to church, but you can have church there, too. We have book studies. We do yoga and exercise. The facility really works well for us all."

"My mom was at Carrollton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Their staff was quite helpful there. Their dining room was very nice. There were several places for him to go to, and they had different areas for the patients. I think they have bingo, and I think they would have a day where they would make things. They had church on Sundays, and somebody would come out and hold a church service. I liked that. We were very pleased."

"I'm very happy with The Hudson House. It's affordable and anything they think I need to know, they call me. They're direct and upfront. It used to be a nursing home, and it's laid out good, it's safe, and there are no steps. The staff is very good, reliable and very professional. The accommodations are standard and average in size. They share a bathroom, there are two twin beds, and there is still room to move around and sit. They're very clean. The food looks really good and they have a chef that cooks every day, so it's not just packaged processed food. They're trustworthy, and they have lots of activities for my mother."
