Marydale Retirement Village

I went to Marydale Retirement Village in person. I filled out an application. It was rather nice. I have concerns about transportation to my doctor's appointment at Wilmington Adult Medicine, but they have a bus for transportation. You schedule your rides, and they tell you what days their bus is available. It's a nice facility. It's not just a room; it is actually like a small apartment. It has a fairly large bedroom, a full kitchen, a full-size stove, a refrigerator, and a microwave. They provide you with services for furniture and things like that, so that was kind of nice. I met with their social director, and they have a lot of social activities. They provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a small food bank and a small clothing bank. I have a friend who lives there, and he loves it there. You have a lot of privacy. The apartments are of more than adequate size. I said, "I don't have any furniture." They said, "Don't worry about that. We have churches that donate furniture and all that can be arranged and delivered to you." The grounds are well-kept and spacious. They have groundkeepers, and they have an active office for the residents to come and go. The amenities of living there are considerable, and I had a positive experience with my visit there. The facility was well kept, too. My friend has been living, and he is very happy.

Marydale Retirement Village seemed very welcoming. From what I saw, they appear to help the people in there a lot. They even have a food bank in there. The staff was excellent, very welcoming, and very helpful. There is a person who has been working with me for the last three weeks. She is trying to get me in there. I haven't had a tour inside the rooms, but they look small from the outside. They have wi-fi. They have a washer and dryer in each unit, so that's a good thing.
