"Three Crowns was very lovely and seemed like they had very good services. It’s continuing care, which is definitely on the top of our list. I could see people doing aqua aerobics and hanging out having coffee. It’s very nice, clean, and new. We have a friend whose parents are there, and she is certainly happy with it. "

"It was very nice although they didn’t have patios on the ground floor, but other than that I liked it. They have a swimming pool, fitness center, spa, and several dining rooms; it’s a big place, but they were a little bit expensive."

"We loved Covenant Living at the Holmstad. It was lovely. I would love to have my mom go there. Everybody knew each other. The residents knew the staff and said hi to them as we walked through the place. The 2-bedroom was phenomenal. It would fit my mother's needs completely. It would have been just perfect. They had so many amenities and so many things that they do like going out shopping and all these things. It's a fun and caring place for people that have limited ways to get around and that needed just a little bit of care."

"Washington & Jane Smith Home is a continuing care place. I’ve been to the assisted living. They have activities, community meals, physical therapy, exercises, crafts, and discussion groups. The assisted living rooms have a living room, a bedroom, and a kitchen. It seems to be a very well run and compassionate community. "

"My mother is already at King Bruwaert House, and the service is very good. The food is 5 stars. It’s very far from me though, and that’s my only objection. "

"My mother in law is currently at Smith Crossing for rehab. She has actually been there twice. Both times were wonderful. The staff is kind, friendly and attentive. As soon as she presses her call button, someone is there within a minute. The nurses have been very good at communicating. Anything I ask for regarding records or updates is given asap. The therapists- PT, OT and Speech are wonderful to deal with- friendly, attentive and again, give me updates any time I ask. They have a great relationship with her. The social workers have been helpful as well. She loves the food. We take walks around the facility and it is clean, beautifully decorated and smells good. They have nice common areas where we can sit outside of her room. They had her ready to go on time every time we needed to leave the facility for doctor's appointments. We are SO pleased with the care she is getting there. We have not had a single thing that concerned us. Love this place!"

"We visited here.The rooms were small, and they cater more to assisted care -- not independent living. I saw their dining room facility, and it seemed fine. They could improve the rooms; they were very small. "

"While driving through the western suburbs of Chicago, we decided to stop in and visit Plymouth Place, since we were looking for an assisted living facility where our aunt could live. We were impressed that they could accommodate our last-minute visit. The area is convenient for our aunt, who has many friends in the area. The main area seemed clean and well tended. The staff was very nice and seemed to treat the residents kindly. They also accommodate most senior circumstances with a variety of living options available. We thought our aunt would like the little park area outside, which was close to the main door. We also thought it looked as though the staff could easily manage all of the residents, which is important to us. Our aunt has a tendency to wander off at times, so her safety is a concern for us. They have a variety of the typical activities that assisted living facilities usually have "“ plus more and they take suggestions from family, friends and residents. The food looked well-prepared and appetizing and smelled very good. The dining room had a homey, nice vibe with comfortable furnishings. The rooms we saw were all nicely decorated "“ and better looking than the main room we first saw. The exercise room was well equipped and offered classes regularly. The book selection, which is important to our aunt "“ was quite nice. Overall, the facility looked like a nice place to live for seniors and the staff was very accommodating. "

"I am currently in rehab at Oak Trace. There's nothing that I do not like here. Everything is above anything that I've experienced before. The staff was very kind. They're courteous. And they respond right away. The food is excellent. I couldn't ask for anything better. The room is decent-sized. Common space is wonderful. They have balconies that you can go out on."

"Montgomery Place is beautiful. My parents had this spectacular apartment with a wonderful view of the lake that was very peaceful and lovely. They have an in-house, co-owned caregiver company, so when my dad became less and less independent, we were able to have caregivers come into the independent living area to provide the extra care. They have a shuttle bus and a lot of connections to the community. They have field trips and daily walking groups, so it is a great place for active seniors. It was well-maintained but minor things took a long time to get taken care of, like hanging picture frames, which took a few months because they didn?t want us messing with their walls. But if it was something significant, they were right there. The food was quite good. They would go downstairs to the first floor for dinner and have independent living eating for breakfast and lunch because the units have a small kitchen, and so you could arrange to have groceries delivered if you needed to. A wonderful independent pharmacy called Ketsaros is not far and they would deliver medications to the unit, so the seniors didn?t have to go out if they weren?t able to or they don?t want to. If they wanted to do their own grocery shopping, there was a shuttle bus that goes to the grocery store twice a week. Ninety percent of the unit is independent living, then one floor is assisted care or what they called ?catered living,? and another floor is the skilled nursing facility split with the rehab facility. My dad had very severe influenza during the time he lived there. He was hospitalized for TWO weeks, and then went to inpatient rehab at Montgomery Place on their rehab unit until he was fit to go back to his apartment."

"I am a very happy resident in Independent Living here in Beacon Hill, Lombard IL. I was drawn by the fact that Medicare and IDPH both give 5-star ratings to our Health Center. I found exactly the right place for me to age gracefully, with physical and social support. FYI, we spent 5 years studying 12 retirement communities before selecting Beacon Hill in Lombard, head & shoulders above the rest. I think people should shop around -- just make sure you include Beacon Hill in your search. Visitors have told me they can see and feel our community's friendly and energetic "personality." "At Hartsfield Village, the environment was much nicer than the other facilities we've visited and so we had mom there. It has a very welcoming environment. The facility is also located in a nice and convenient location. The people were very nice and they have a lot of activities. They are well staffed. They do have an exercise facility and a trainer there. A podiatrist also comes in a couple of days a week. "

"This facility is located on the north side of chicago it serves a population of adults who have been diagnoised with a developmental disability. They only provide services to female residents. While there I noticed some of the residents were sharing a room. They have a full clinical staff that provides services to the residents 24 hrs a day. the meals are prepared by the staff, and on special occassions and when doing food activites, the staff will allow the residents to assist in the preparation of the meals. The facility is clean, and well-maintained. The staff is very hands on, and the residents seem to have a closeness with one another. In general, I would rank this facility a 4 out of 5 stars. "

"Staff is great and helpful with arranging care and transportation of necessary. Transition from rehab after hospital stay to Assisted living was very smooth. Entire building is being updated and remodeled. Park is across the street. Shopping and food a few blocks away. "
