The problem with Frasier Meadows is that you put in $750,000 and if you die the day after you arrive, you lose $750,000. It's a buy-in. The staff during the tour wasn't particularly knowledgeable. There were nice ladies and they were working hard, but they were probably out of their league. The food was absolutely fabulous. I would gain 100 pounds within the first month. Everything was under construction there, which was one of the issues. They're building a pool and a workout room.

When we received the materials via mail we saw that it was too expensive for our finances. We did not follow through with an appointment because it would have been a waste of time for the staff as well as for us. There is no doubt but that it is a fine institution, but we do not need the absolute best in town in order to be happy and to feel secure.

Frasier Meadows looked very attractive. The activities looked quite interesting. Their rooms seemed to be a rather large size for the independent living that I was looking at. They were ample size rooms. They come in a large variety of floor plans. The thing that I like about Frasier Meadows is that it is a continuing care place, and if you have to leave for one reason or another, you get about half of your pay-in charge. What I like best about this one is its nearness to my family. In fact, my son and his wife thought it was the most desirable.

I feel like Frasier Meadows is more of a community. They really encourage people to do things together. They were very caring and very attentive. It feels more like a home. The event that I attended was a party. There was music and there was a lot of interaction between people. There's a lot of sharing of one another's stories. I really like that. People knew more about one another.

My parents moved there last April. They have their own apartment, and it's really nice. They have to pay so much for food every month (they are required to), but I am so glad. They are eating a lot better now than they were when they were living on their own. It's very clean and there are a lot of activities. I guess the only thing I don't really like about the place, is having to sign in when I go in the front door, but I am glad there is some security. There are always activities going on somewhere in the place so my parents are very busy now, which is also good for them. They have someone come in once a month to clean and check on them, and there are always lots of people around. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I also like the fact that they (my parents) have a patio they can go outside on from their apartment. They were even allowed to get a small dog. Oh, and they have their own thrift store and weight room etc. Pretty fun!

I have always been very impressed with this assisted living care facility. They have all the amenities the elderly would ever need, including restaurants, activities, great facilities and more. It really stands out becuase most retirement homes are depressing, while this one everyone seems to be happy and have plenty of things to do. There are always social activities going on, such as lunches, concerts, gardening and more. They also have many resident lead clubs for all types of interests from sewing to swimming. There are also two resturants, both with excellent food and staff. You can tell that the chefs really know what they are doing, because the restaurants are better than most non retirement community restaurants. Overall I would have to give this facility a great review simply because of how much effort the staff puts into making it such a great place for the elderly to spend their days.

Frasier Meadows is a CCRC. I know the assisted living section well, so I'll speak mainly about that. It's right in Boulder, across the street from a park and easy to get to. It's a very nice facility, with nice grounds, which includes a green house"”filled with plants and a fountain"”that's a very calming place to sit and talk or just rest. The assisted living part was redone in the last 7-8 years. It's set up like a big wagon wheel, with a central hub. That can be a little confusing at times. The staff is pretty incredible. They have the lowest direct care staff turnover I've seen. And they're very conscientious: well trained in regular aging issues. But they don't offer memory care here, so dementia care is not an area of expertise. The assisted living director is very involved, and the new CEO seems very accessible. They're very resident centered. Everything is set up with the residents' needs in mind. They have a variable schedule for breakfast, for example, for those who want to wake and eat later. The food is good, and so are the activities. They bring in a lot of entertainers. There are games, movies, and discussion groups. Frasier Meadows is also very involved in the community, and they bring in intergenerational activities. It's a good fit for those who want to age in place, since they offer everything from independent living to skilled nursing. But they're very strict about their limitations. They can support those with high physical need, but they're not set up for dementia care.
