"Oakmont Gardens was where I would prefer to go. It had everything that I would want. I was impressed with the lady who took us around to look at things and the apartment, too. Pretty much everything I felt suited my needs. I was impressed. "

We had lunch there, and what we had was very good. They had lunch and dinner specials every day. They seem to be pretty on top of everything."

"My Mother lives in Healdsburg and loves it. She especially enjoys the ever changing gardens and the farm animals outside her windows. The staff is very helpful in getting her out to visit the animals and see all the flowers.The staff is extra loving, especially during this crisis. I feel she is in excellent care."

"Piner's Guest Home was very homey. They had a couple of kitty cats that were kind of their facility's pets and then the owner has a dog that comes in as well. My sister called the place cluttered, but to me, it felt homey. There were books out and it felt like visiting your grandma's house. It was very nice. They had a one-bedroom and a studio. The studio was a very nice room and very comfortable. Not only did they have a hair and nail salon where they could get their hair or nails done once a week, but they also had activities like flower arranging, making art pieces, music, VR headsets to play games, and movies."

"My visit to Berkshire was excellent. They took me to the room and personally guided me through everything. They talked to me and opened it up for questions, and they were very professional. The rooms were very nice and adequate for what the need is. They had dinners, and they had parties outside. It was some kind of celebration going on, and it looks like they did it quite nicely. "I toured The Canterbury Home, and it was clean, bright, and very safety conscious. It's actually run by a doctor. It was cheery, and the staff in the home were upbeat and positive. The minute I walked in there, I just really liked it. Some of the homes that I went to are drab and dark, not inviting at all. This house was quite lovely. My dad's 91 years old. He doesn't need a lot; he is in a wheelchair. What he needed was some good hands-on care, a small facility, and somebody that will really be looking out for him. I didn't need any amenities. That wasn't part of what I needed for my search. The rooms are nice, neat, tidy, and clean. There were only six people, so they prepare the food. She said they would listen to what my dad's needs were and go from there. He wasn't looking for restaurant style and all those things that some of the bigger places do; that wasn't what I was looking for."

"I liked the people at Redwood Senior Living Santa Rosa. They might want to replace some of their furniture with newer furniture. They have floors that have been mopped a gazillion times and they are wearing out in a few places. If my mother didn't have macular degeneration and was able to see clearly, she'd want to be out of there after just one look, but it's a place that I would find acceptable, especially considering my mom's income and all. The room I saw had a nice window. The bed in there was kind of saggy in the middle, but she would have been bringing a rental bed wherever she went. It seemed like the residents were happy, and that's usually a sign to me that the staff is doing something right."

"Dina's Place is a home with so many beds. It's fine and clean. The staff is very nice and very accommodating. My mother shares a room with another elderly lady, and it looks like a crowded bedroom."

"My mother-in-law has happily been in Eva's Garden since February. It was highly recommended by a social worker from St. Joseph's Healthcare. I think the living accommodation is good. It's a boarding care home, so she doesn't have her own kitchen. She doesn't have her own bathroom. She has to be helped to the bathroom, so she has a commode. There are only six people in the home. There are two or three during the day, and maybe only one during the night time. Her room is small. They bring in music, as far as I know. I've witnessed one person who comes and plays the piano. My husband has witnessed a ukulele or something that was quite good. They had flowers on Mother's Day, and they try to make the place special for the holidays. We're just coming out of winter, but it seems like they could spruce it up a little more and make it look a little more pretty. I see they're trying to work on their flowers and the patio. The good thing is its a very home-like environment. I was impressed with the owner and what he told me. I do think they're very caring and congenial. They seem to want my mom to be happy, and the care is really more important than how pretty it looks. "
