The people at Orangeburg Memory Care were very friendly, and it was very clean. We liked the way they presented themselves, so that's why we chose them for my brother-in-law. The cost was a little more affordable than others. The staff members are very friendly, and they seem to be very caring. They provide three meals a day. My brother-in-law can get a snack whenever he wants one. The rooms are large. He has a room by himself with his own bathroom, which was another attractive thing about the place. I briefly met their activities director, who seems very engaged with the residents. They have activities; although, he doesn't like to do any of them. We haven't had any problems at all with them.

My tour of Orangeburg Memory Care was a good experience. It was very pleasant. The place was very large. There were some really lovely rooms, however, for somebody with dementia, I could see it being a bit confusing because it's almost a little too large.

We toured Orangeburg Memory Care. I liked that it just focused on memory care. The rooms were very nice and very clean. They had friendly staff. It had an outside walkway that went all the way around the building safely without the residents getting lost. The person who gave me the tour was really friendly. She knew what she was talking about and told us everything we needed to know right off the bat. It was well done. They had an activities room. They were actually having somebody playing a piano and everybody was singing along.

We have placed my husband here. It has only been less than a month, but I'm really pleased with them so far. I haven't really been inside because of COVID restrictions. We did a tour via the staff's little phone. She showed me some rooms, the courtyard area, and the dining room, and it's a homey place. My husband isn't a fancy person -- he is not going to be impressed by beautiful furnishings and things like that -- but it's comfortable and feels homey. All the caregivers know him by name, and they're always very sweet when I call to check on him. If he loses his phone or he forgets to charge it, if I don't hear from them for a day or so, or if I detect a lot of anxiety in his voice, I can call and check on him, and they're always very pleasant, so it has been a very positive experience so far. My husband is renting a shared room, but at this time he has it all to himself. Right now, there are no activities because of COVID, but I wasn't too concerned about that because he is not a joiner. I have been able to pick him up for doctors appointments, and that's worked out really well because I got to go see him and actually have face-to-face time with him for a few minutes. We have had about three of those, and that worked out well.

I chose this community for my wife, and so far, so good. They have activities, but I was not allowed to go in, and activities are not allowed at this time. She's in memory care. It's only been a month, they provide meals, and the food is delivered inside the room.
