"We like Carefield Pleasanton Memory Care. The only downside was (it's not that big a distance), but it would take us 45 minutes to an hour to get there because of traffic and stuff. The Bay Area traffic is a total nightmare and you're only going a few miles up the freeway and that can take you an hour. In the event of an emergency, I don't want a place that's far away. The staff there was very nice. We saw two people and we also met the chef that came in and gave us samples of their food which were excellent. My sister especially liked the rooms. They were much larger. It allows you to bring more of your own furniture and personal belongings from home. Even if you're sharing a room, it was much, much bigger. These rooms were large enough to bring in a recliner, an extra chair, your dresser from home, put up your own TV on the wall. It was a newer facility and it catered to much larger rooms so that you could have a living space. If it was a private room, you had room for a lot of furniture in there if you wanted to bring personal items. There was room there for tables and chairs, a sofa if you wanted visitors and that kind of stuff. We like the facility. I saw a room where people were playing bingo. The downside for me was the facility was too big. I like the idea that these rooms were large, but in doing so, it also meant you had large corridors and I was afraid that my mother would never find her way back to the room. I love the birdcages. I walked in and they had several birds in this birdcage. My mother is a huge fan of birds. She always has birdfeeders out and feeds all the birds in her yard. This large cage with four or five little parakeets or whatever just filled up the whole room when you walked into the lobby. The lobby was bigger than my house. I would be very happy eating there, but we only had some appetizers and a dessert and I took the rest of the dessert with me. I just thought it was too large to navigate for somebody that has memory issues."

"I want to spend a moment to say thank you from my whole family to the activity team at The Parkview. My mother passed away just recently in Memory Care and I could not count the endless amount of times how activities helped her and me come together. the activities are such a fresh breath of air. thank you to the Director of activities for going above and beyond with us and his team for always being there. "Sunol Creek Memory Care specializes in memory care, so their staff is trained to deal with people who have memory issues such as dementia or confusion. They know how to treat my friend. The staff talks to him and is nice to him. He has a private room, and we had to bring the furniture. He has a little TV that his family bought for him, as well as a bed, a small sofa, a chair, and a reading lamp. They have common areas where they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They encourage residents to come to the common eating area, but sometimes the residents prefer to have their meals served in their rooms. They have an area for arts and crafts activities, and in their reception area, they offer good chocolate chip cookies."

"Mom has been at The Reutlinger for a year now. They have a lot of activities and a great art department. The restaurant is OK but could be a bit better. The staff is really nice. I don’t like the rooms with rooftop views. Maybe they could put plants on those rooftops, so the residents could have something nice to see when they look out their windows. Other than that, everything is great. The place is clean and comfortable, the people are very pleasant, and the décor is clean and up-to-date. They also have an in-house physical therapy department. "

"My mom moved into TreVista at Antioch. It's beautiful. She has a studio apartment. I've been working with Teresa for nearly a year, going through all the paperwork. She was amazing. Then, after moving in and meeting Alberto, the executive director, and the entire staff, I can't tell how impressed I was. They're very warm and caring, including the residents. I mean, they welcomed my mom. She's so happy. They have several programs. They have all kinds of work, chair exercises, and an hourly list of things they do there, up to evening movies. The food was very good, and the wait staff, when they're seated at the table, is really sweet. I had a sister come and help me move her in, and she was also very impressed."

"I am very pleased with the care my husband has received at the Gardens. The staff is very kind, always helpful, caring and pleasant. One thing I’ve noticed is every staff person is aware of what’s happening around them and always ready to help any resident. "I toured, and in other places that I visited, it was more like a hospital feeling when you went in there, but it wasn't like that at all. It was like normal living. It was very, very nice inside. They have three separate buildings, depending on the care, and they're all beautiful. They're just lovely. If I can afford it, that's where I put my dad in. The apartments were nice and spacious, with a huge, big walk-in bathroom. They had places where they would sit and do their activities and sing. They had a separate area so you could go with family when they came over. You have a separate place, or you can talk to them on the phone, where you can get peace in talking to them. And then, right in the middle, they had a little kitchen, so when they weren't having breakfast, lunch, or dinner, they always had snacks going 24/7 if anyone wanted snacks. That was neat, and the atmosphere was nice. They had fireplaces and pianos. It's very homey and comfy when you walk there."

"Golden Haven is a facility that is very specific for Alzheimer's and dementia patients only. The facility inside is great. It's very clean. The support staff is really unique. They take really good care of my mom. They are very secure so they don’t get a lot of wanders. We are really, really pleased with them. Her room is very nice and it is setup exactly for her needs. The whole person is setup around caring for people with memory problems. Their dining is very nice and the food is very good. They do a lot of painting which is great because my mom is a painter. They also have music and they have games. "

"I'm sorry it has taken me so long to write this review. It has been a year since my Mother passed to her Heavenly home, but I want to write this regardless to maybe encourage others that need these services to consider Bethany in Ripon. My experience working with them started on the basis of home health services. My mother needed assistance with basic living needs, even though she was very reluctant to admit it. I reached out to Bethany and both Bonnie and Pam were very professional and understanding as to the situation. I am an only child and live several hundred miles from Ripon, and as time went on, I was unable to provide the level of care she needed. They came to her home and counseled her as to the services they could provide. When I was not able to be be there in person, they allowed me to participate by phone. We worked through a customized plan to meet her needs, allowing us to make changes as we went along. The level of care they provided was stellar! The people actually providing the services were excellent. Bethany employs a very positive, but strict code of conduct. When it came time to utilize skilled nursing, Bethany was very helpful in working through that transition. It was particularly challenging as this was during the prime of the covid 19 crisis. If you think that is an easy process, especially dealing with medicare and insurance companies, you are very mistaken. Cindy oversees the entire organization, and I had many conversations with her and her team of absolute professionals. They are caring, and willing to work with reasonable specific needs. They are just really good people caring for your loved ones as a ministry of service. I can't thank them enough for the care and help they gave my mother and our family all the way up to her passing. If you have a loved one that is needing assisted health services, all the way from basic home health assistance to skilled nursing services, I can attest they are the best I've seen or heard of, based on other reviews of other facilities. As I said above, they treat this a a ministry of service, rather than just a job. My family was very blessed to have them assist us during the last few months of my mother's life on earth."

" My husband is at Gabriela's Villa. He moved in there on November 9th. I am quite satisfied. He seems to get the attention that he needs, which on some days it's a lot, other days it's not as much. Two young gentlemen, that are part of the staff, seem to get along very well with him and that's a good mix, or a good combination of caregivers with patient. They are such friendly and attentive male caregivers. He's satisfied with the food. I've asked him, "How's the food?", and he'll say, "Okay." He's not complaining. I haven't heard any raves about the food, but that's not due to their cooking. He's just not very communicative right now. Activities are limited due to COVID. Outside guests cannot come in and present activities right now. The staff, however, may lead some singing together, similar to Karaoke. The residents are encouraged to stand up and move or dance to the music. Residents also can eat at the dining table together, or play cards. Six feet social distancing is implemented during dining as well as activities. Visiting is limited during this COVID time at Gabriella's Villa as at all Board & Care Homes. I only get to see him twice a week for 5 to 10 minutes each time, and that's a window visit. I'm on the outside of the window and he's on the inside. Sometimes we have a door visit. A door to the outside is open several inches. We can speak through the opening and hear each other. His room is good. It's small, but has room for a TV, a dresser, a bed, a food tray, a closet, and one large window on one wall. The staff is very friendly, very kind, attentive, and is meeting his needs. The price for the board and care is very reasonable. Overall, my husband’s care at Gabriella’s Villa has been very satisfactory. "
