My brother is at Arvin Post Acute. The place is clean and has physical therapists and occupational therapists right there at the center. He also likes the food. However, we really had a rocky start with the staff. He was hospitalized twice in the first week he was there. They were not on top of his needs for his diabetes, and part of it, I believe, is the nursing staff, and part of it is probably the doctor's response. It just took a few weeks to get the nurses to understand what his needs were and to accommodate them. It kind of feels like there was a lack of experience with the nursing staff. My brother can at least advocate for himself, although sometimes he can't. I am not sure about how they navigate when a patient can't advocate for themselves and state what their needs are. It's just kind of concerning that we probably need more hands on deck there. I don't know the experience extent of the staff, but it kind of felt like it was more of a training ground. The nursing station is centrally located, so all of the hallways are right there. I like that they have physical therapy on-site. They also provide my brother with transportation for his dialysis, which is only just two minutes away from the facility. We've had some problems with that one time when he had to wait about two hours for his ride to get back to the nursing home. One time, one of the nurses also had to wheel him there in his wheelchair because there was no transportation, so that's kind of iffy. We can't really depend on it 100%.

My mother in law had to go here different times I hate to say the first time she had Broke her ankle she went there suppose to get therapy there maybe 3 to 4 times when we went there to visit her for lunch a man started choking on a piece of bread they are so I’ll equipped the device was broken and could not suck the piece out myself and a nurse there tired the Heimlich maneuver he ended up passing away.the second time she went there the nursing staff wasn’t getting tested for the covid and she ended up getting it.She had it so bad and many complications she has to use a Catheter for the rest of her life her main doctor said. That being said their doctor told the nurse to take it out she refused stating her primary care doctor told her not to have it removed they removed it anyways not she is in the hospital fighting for her life because she now has septic shock.she is refusing to eat she is confused when I went to the home to ask about her and what happened to her they replied will I don’t even think she is here!! She cries and states she doesn’t want to go back there. Unbelievable please I know times are bad but this place in my opinion is the worst place to have someone you love to go to.the rooms are old and smelly no oxygen outlets you have to bring your own and the staff is under staff and she has to wait up to 30 minutes for her to be charged bath time is 2 twice a week

I visited; it was very dirty, and it really smelled. Their rooms overall were not very clean. The staff didn't do anything. They didn't even talk to you. The staff was lazy. We saw the dining room, and people were in folding their own clothes. The facility's atmosphere was stuffy. They need to clean the facility.
