"My in-laws moved into Wayside Parkview Estates, and so far we're very pleased. The staff is really nice, caring, the meals have been excellent, and the facility is very clean and well kept. I know they usually have one social hour a month. They invite other people to come in, they have an exercise almost every day, they have entertainment coming in, especially through the holidays, and they offer craft activities. The staff follows up on residents who miss their meals, but they could also get my in-laws more involved in activities. They always offer alternatives for the meals, and they're very open to making sure the residents get something they like. It's one of the nicest facilities I've been in, the price is really good, and it was the cheapest place we went to visit. The care the residents are getting is excellent."

"It was very nice. I liked everything about it. The people were wonderful. I was greeted by Edith and we started on the first floor and we looked at the different common areas and the dining room. I thought it was just gorgeous. I would have never thought I was in an assisted living area. We looked at three different apartments and they were all very nice and very well laid out. They have a stackable washer and dryer, a stove, and a refrigerator. Some of them included a dishwasher and a microwave. I thought they were a great size and I feel that my mother would be comfortable in all three of the different sizes that we looked at. I was able to witness a bingo game and they looked like they were enjoying themselves. I was very impressed overall with everything that I saw. They were very knowledgeable about everything and shared the different costs and gave me some information about the VA program so that I could look into that. They had several different areas that had a nice concrete patio with tables and chairs. But during the summer, they told me that they have cushions out there and umbrellas, and there are flower beds and pots of flowers. Just from the looks of it, I can imagine how beautiful it must be."

"I toured the memory care of Frontida of Manitowoc. I thought it was beautiful, warm, and welcoming. It had a lot of curb appeal. The woman there was very professional, very knowledgeable of the needs of people, and very good with people. We got to watch her in action a little bit. The dining area looked very clean. There's a schedule on the board that's filled with activities, and it changes daily. They have everything, from exercising to crafting to listening to stories to dancing."

"Country Terrace of Wisconsin in Appleton didn't have rooms available that had a bathroom in them. It wasn't anything about the place, but whether it matched what we were looking for and that wasn't right for my mom. Mom would have liked her own bathroom, but the staff was very friendly, pretty thorough, answered all the questions, and provided brochures and stuff as well, not only for their facility but for other support systems in the area. So, that was very good."

"Harvest Home has only eight rooms, so it's more of a family environment. Mom's been in there for a couple of months now and she loves it there. Everybody's friendly and right there for you. She's like part of the family there. She was all by herself before, but they got her involve in activities. "

When my mom could no longer stay with him, Sterling House offered a respite care service to my mom. The people at Sterling House have been a Godsend to me and my family. I think this is the first time in a long time my mom is actually enjoying herself. "

"The rooms are adequate. The food is awful. There are no activities. There are no housekeepers. I couldn't get help with anything. They constantly messed up my medications and towards the end of my stay they didn't have my medications. Some staff were nice, most were abusive. Glad I left"

"We looked here and I liked the common areas, the room size, and the location. She was very helpful and accommodating with all of my questions. I actually chose them originally, but as things progressed with my mother during that time, things changed and they were eventually unable to accept her there. This would have probably been my first choice. I liked the layout of Building I. It seemed that they would be able to meet all of my mother's needs at that time. The rooms were all studio type units. "We liked The Waterford at Plymouth. It seemed very welcoming. There weren't a whole lot of people there, but it was very nice. The staff was very, very patient. It seemed like there was still a lot of remodeling and stuff going on while we were doing the tour."

"Care Partners Assisted Living in Appleton is a very nice place. We got a good feeling about the place and it was positive. The staff was very good. It seemed like they have a good assortment of activities."

"I toured LakeHouse Manitowoc. They were very nice. I had a tour guide and I talked to the administrator there. He answered questions, and the other gal did, too. I was much more satisfied with that than the other community. They showed me a studio and a single bedroom. The studio apartment is set up as a place where it is shown to visitors. There was a bed, a couch, and a microwave. It was small and only 500 square-feet compared to what I'm now at 1200 which was not appealing to me. They had a one-bedroom and was divided into a dining room and living room area, plus a bedroom and a separate room, somewhat small compared to where I am living now, but the amenities were pretty good. They have activities available every day. They have a bus that belongs to the building there, and they take you where you want to go. It has a very nice dining facility, plus two places for gathering. They had another area for religious church facilities and a TV room area. The staff was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. She was well-versed in what she was doing."
