The building and the rooms were very well-maintained and clean. They had a person in charge of different events, and they had a calendar of events available for their residents."

"Hill House Memory Care is very family centered and family style. Everybody that I spoke with was welcoming and friendly. They answered my questions directly. The facility is new, so it's nice, clean, and secure. They have a salon and a courtyard. They have a family style dining area. They have what they call a four season room. It is very open with lots of natural light. There will be raised garden beds, which I think is a plus."

"The Courtyard is a relatively new assisted living facility in Colfax. I was very satisfied with the facility as it is clean and the employees seemed friendly and competent. Also, the Courtyard is co-owned by a local family practice physician who is very well respected and takes exceptional care of all his patients.As for amenities, I am pleased to say that the food provided seemed to be very good, and the local transportation bus for the elderly (called the Coast) makes regular visits to and from the facility so that Courtyard residents can get around town for their daily outings and errands.Furthermore, I was impressed with how clean and well organized the facility as a whole was. Perhaps among the best I've seen. This shows that Courtyard management, from top down, are truly compassionate and committed to their goal of providing outstanding patient/ resident care to the elderly who live their. "

"I couldn't be more pleased with Riverview Residential Home & Care. They are a 5 out of 5 stars so far, on every single thing. My father-in-law has only been there a couple of weeks and I can't even say enough good things about them. He loves the country and the great outdoors, and this place has a view of the river and the golf course. He's not looking at a busy street and he can sit out on the deck. When we toured the home, the caregivers immediately talked directly to him and made him feel at home. It was the people, the view, and the care that he needs that were important to us, but the people taking care of him would truly treat him as somebody that they would care for and love. So far, the food must be really good because he doesn't complain. The other day they made him his favorite meal, a chicken fried steak, in which he saved some leftovers for breakfast, so I'm thinking that must mean it's pretty good. The only thing he has complained about is they won't let him have sausage and bacon every single morning. He can't have that with his heart condition, but since he was living on his own, he did whatever he wanted, up until now. That's his biggest complaint so far. The dining area was a big family table. They have six residents and they all sit there together and I think he eats better in that kind of environment instead of all by himself. They're doing some gardening out on the deck too. He's going to plant his tomato plants that he wants and a cucumber plant. I know they have other extended activities but that has not been a huge priority for us. Mostly I needed him to have interaction. His room is of average size and they have allowed him to do absolutely anything he wants there. They have alarms in his bedroom, so when he doesn't let anybody know that he's getting up, they know. The staff is, again, phenomenal. They really are. They have a mix of both men and women, which is a great change for him. He needed that because he had very, very little interaction before. The transition was not easy for him, but everybody was very patient and really worked with him to try to make him comfortable and happy, every single one of them. They are also now in the process of doing some updating, which is going to make the place even more beautiful, so that's going to be awesome, too. It's the best money he's ever spent and we're very comfortable knowing he's safe and happy."
