"I was impressed with Morningside of Bellgrade. The facility was very clean, and they had a locked unit so it was safe. The staff were very friendly, and they seemed to be very busy with the people and have activities for them to do, and so this facility would definitely be an option. They had music going on. They have crafts to do too. They also had stations set up throughout the unit where patients could go and sit down and work on things. There seemed to be a lot of activities available. "

"The Harmony Collection at Hanover was absolutely wonderful. When you first walk in, the decor of the common areas and all the other little amenities within the building are done so nicely. I looked at a few of the units, and they were very well thought out. They had roll-in showers, and I use a wheelchair periodically. They had counters that you could also roll your wheelchair up to in the bathroom. The units were well built with beautiful architectural features. They offered a lot of amenities where you could go down and get one meal a day as part of your monthly cost. They had outings, too. They had physical therapy and nursing on-site. They even had a happy hour on Fridays for an hour or something, so you can go down there and socialize. I really would have loved to go there. I'd be there in a split second. The person who gave the tour was absolutely wonderful. She is the director of both the independent living and the memory care, which is another building of its own."

"We got my mother at The Crossings. It was brand new, and the location was perfect. We tried eating there, and it was very good. They have many activities throughout the day. "

"I went and visited the Commonwealth Senior Living at the West End. The coordinator was very outgoing, friendly, and knowledgeable about the facility and the residents. The staff was friendly. The place was nice and clean. They had nice-sized rooms, but the only one they had available was a companion room, which would not work out."

"Sancerre Atlee Station is brand new. It's within three miles from our daughter's home and also about three miles from a local medical facility hospital in the area. We liked the apartments that were available. We liked the size, what they looked like, and all that. The staff was very informative and answered our questions. The facility was very clean."

"I went to Heritage Green of Hanover. My experience was fine, the lady was very nice, she took us all over the facility, she was very accommodating, and she continues to contact me periodically with special programs that they have going on, but it's way out of the price range that my father could afford. The facility is nice, it looks like they take good care of the people, and I was impressed with it. The rooms were more like studios, they're really small, and most have two people in them. The day I was there, they had a singer in, and they were all out in their common area listening to a singer. I did see the dining area, and a common area room that they have."

"We visited Elizabeth House, and we liked it. The room was a good size. It was nice and clean. We couldn't look around too much because they wouldn't let us go where the other people were because of COVID. We could only look at the one room."

"I went to Spring Arbor of Salisbury. It was clean, and it was very nice. It's a little bit older than the other place we visited, but it's not dated. The dining room seemed to be nice. It was just priced a little higher. The staff was very friendly. There were lots of things for them to do. The staff was very pleasant. They gave us a muffin to go and it was very good."

"We visited Brookdale Midlothian, and it was very nice and clean. They had a bus service, a community room, but everybody was out when we went there. The people that worked there seemed very nice. They have bus services and field trips."

"My dad has been here for a couple of weeks now. They are amazing. I felt very comfortable every time I went in. The facility is beautiful, and I feel that they made me and my dad feel safe. He is being taken care of. I'm in contact with them most of the time if there's any issues because my dad is in his mid to last stages of Alzheimer's. I am very pleased with the services that they offer. They have exercises and activities for my dad. The place itself is beautiful. My dad's room is very comfortable. When he first walked in, he said, "Wow, this place is really nice. Whoever's room this is, it's really nice." I had set it up before he got there. They keep it very clean. They adhere to all the protocols. I've watched them with other memory care residents, how they redirect, and they do it in a caring and professional manner (which is something that me and my mom would not). We didn't know how to care for my dad in that manner, where he can move forward with his life having Alzheimer's. They even let me know that he has a new friend, which is great. I feel like it's a better atmosphere for him, as opposed to being secluded in the house and not being able to really do things and go anywhere. The food is awesome. They have a five star chef, and my dad does not complain about that. When we first brought him there, he ate the food and he said it's so good and amazing. That won him over really quickly because he eats all the time. They have three square meals a day, and I provide him with snacks. As of right now for the first three weeks, I have no complaints at all. It's a hard decision to place my dad in a facility. They made us feel really comfortable going there and speaking to them. I didn't want him to leave the house, but they really helped us. My mom and I feel like this was the perfect place for him."
