"My father is now in August Healthcare at Richmond. It's been excellent. The facilities are very good. The facility is a little bit dated. They're just about to start a massive renovation, but the plans looked good. They've got excellent staff. They get to know the person that's in there, and the nursing staff is quite good. He is receiving excellent care, and he loves the food. I have not tried the food, but he raves about it. The common areas are nice. When I was there, they were more on lockdown because of COVID. They've since opened back up, so they have lots of games and activities and they have little road trips. They've been terrific. I've had to coordinate with them for him to go out to wound care, and they've been very receptive to him having a different schedule, and the physical therapy there is excellent. They have private rooms. In my dad's case, you share a bathroom with one person, so that's pretty unusual. He's got Medicare, so I would say it's excellent value. "

"The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff in all departments are very caring and friendly and most important professional. My family member was on Huguenot and Ms Blizzard was the CNA she is the best of the best anything I asked wasn't an issue."

"This place is wonderful. I got more done here in two weeks than I did in a month at the hospital. They really got me go in again. It was a great help having the staff and doctors and therapy by our side throughout my recovery. The staff was very patient and accommodating. From day one everyone put their all into making sure everything was perfect. And I really felt like they were there for my entire family while we worked through my recent changes in health and independence. "

"I had been at Sheltering Arms. They are actually a rehab facility. They're an inpatient facility for physical rehab, for PT and OT. You can give them across the board, in every single respect, every way possibly imaginable, top ratings. I went from not being able to move my legs at all to walking with a walker in less than two weeks. The first day I came there, I came from surgery, I was dirty, I was scared, I was hurting and this woman came up and she said, 'Is it okay if I give you a hug?' and she said, 'You're okay now, you're here. You're going to be okay.' I told her I smelled so bad and I felt so horrible. She got me in and she scrubbed me from head to toe and the whole time, this really nice sweet soft voice was just right there. She got me changed into clean clothes and got me in a clean bed. She brought me a meal and she brought me ice cream. I will never forget that. I had 13 major back surgeries and I had never at anyone, anywhere showed me the kind of love, care and kindness that I got from Sheltering Arms. The food was excellent. I want to say to Sheltering Arms, "Thank you for your caring!!" "

"My Mom spent her final six months here loved and cared for by the wonderful, attentive, and sincerely caring staff. Every member of the team shared timely, positive, kind, focused, encouraging and caring services. The food was excellent. And she was blessed with the best roommate on the planet. She told us often that she felt loved there, so vital when eyesight and strength are failing. Everyone we met immediately welcomed us and made us feel at home there. We will always be very, very thankful and appreciative."

"I visited Covenant Woods independent living a year ago and I am still in contact with them. They send me messages and send me things once in a while. I went back there last year because they invited us to something. I like everything about it. It has apartments and you can get the one that suits you best. I looked at one that had two bedrooms because I wanted to have a spare bedroom that I could use for something else or in case somebody came. I liked it very, very much but I wasn't ready to make that final decision yet. The place is lovely. They have the big building with apartments in them and then they have cottages too. They have quite a few restaurants inside that you could go to and quite a few things to do as well. They have a lot of things going on over there and I get invitations to those. Sometimes it's music and sometimes something else. I don't go to many of them, but they invited several of us, not long ago, to something and we went to kind of catch up to see how things were going. We saw that they have added some new things to the area and they were very nice. The person that I met during my last visit gave me a tour of the place and talked to me. I guess she was in sales, so she was handling the selling of the units. She took us to different places throughout the building."

"I would like to give a shout out to my favorite coffee lady (Victoria brown) she always makes sure I get my coffee every morning and makes sure it’s hot. I enjoy her laughter everyday it’s my wake up call. Keep up the good work Vic and keep us laughing."

"My mother-in-law is at Autumn Care. My mother-in-law is bedbound, so she needs 24-hour care. We love the nurses. We love the quality of care. It is just the right fit for us. The nurses even text you with things like, "Hey, we think that she's coming close to the end. You need to get up here." So even on that side of it, I love it. I love the activities, too, that they have. They have activities scheduled every day. There are probably about four different activities throughout the day, and they can be as simple as music, bingo, arts and crafts, and things like making birdhouses. When the weather is warmer, they have old cars come out. Then they push the people around the facility to see the old cars. They are engaging with the families, too. They encourage you to be there. They do great with their rehab. Their rehab program is personalized, and they come to your home. It is a really great facility. My mother-in-law is extremely picky, and their food is decent. They also have snacks. If they don't like what's on the menu that day, they can always request something like grilled cheese, soup, or peanut butter. The only thing that's lacking is that the walls need to be freshly painted. The rooms are large and very clean. Everything is very, very clean. We have the capability to switch to Medicaid, and that's the biggest blessing."

"Golden LivingCenter was nice. It was secure. I don’t have any problems with them. The food was pretty good. They had bingo, book readings, and cooking. They need to have an exterminator more often. "

"Lakewood was very impressive. Unfortunately, it was during COVID, so we didn't get to tour the living facilities. They had just finished renovations. Their staff was really pleasant and nice. I even put a deposit down there. That's a buy-in, and I would love to go there, but they're a little bit more expensive than I can handle. They have two meals a day, which are lunch and dinner. They had two or three restaurant-type things. They had their main dining room, which was like restaurant service. Then they had a bistro, a private dining room, and they had a snack shop. All the amenities were great. One of the things I like was it has Life Care. They have good exercise equipment, a pool, medical facilities onsite, transportation to medical appointments within limits, nice lounge areas, and a library."
