"Good Samaritan is a very carring facility with three wings, each filling a different need. Oaks is an independent community, Pines is Assisted Living facility and Maples is a retirement facility that provides some services. All residents have use of free van transportation for shopping and appointments. Three nutritious meals are served plus coffee, juice, ice cream and treats are provided throughout the day. Bingo is a favorite and the residents really enjoy their meager winnings. The Activity Director does a great job providing different opportunities with different interests. Many music groups entertain, be it accordian players, elementary children singing, group singing, and more. There are always puzzles started for anyone to sit down and plug in a few pieces. Religion is important at this facility; it is definitely a Christian facility which holds church services regularly. Different faiths are represented by different pastors/priests from neighboring churches taking charge of the services and Bible studies. This is a wonderful caring facility and I am happy to have my Mother there. I know she is well cared for and enjoys her friends and the staff. "

"I visited Parkwood Place. The rooms were fine except that they didn't have dishwashers. The staff was pretty good. They could have been better. They were not excellent, but they were OK. The food was very good, but you have to pay for it. As for activities, they have a library, they play pool and cards, you can grow plants, and they have a lot of people come in and entertain you. The best thing about this place is that it is in my hometown, and I know a lot of people there. "

"My parents are at Wheatland Terrace now. It is really the only one that makes sense for us. It seems like it has about everything that we were looking for. They have different rooms of different sizes. My folks are currently in one that is a respite care and temporarily they’re on a waiting list for a two-bedroom. I’ve seen the floorplans, and they seem fine. I didn’t try the food, but they have a nice dining set-up. They have recently switched vendors, so there had been a little learning curve, but I think they are back on board. They try to tailor meals to certain people’s needs. Food seems to be healthy and comes in a good selection. They always have activities, and people can do them or not. There are church services on Sunday and a lot of performers coming in and doing things. They try to do seasonal little parties and recognize people on birthdays. There are plenty of things to do there. They have a good recreation activity room with a couple of areas with a big-screen TV, pool table, craft tables, and workout equipment. "

"My father is in Edgewood Grand Forks. We chose it because it's brand new, it has nice amenities, and it has a nice dining hall. The staff looks friendly. They have his Sanford health doctors attached to the same building like there's a connection tunnel, so all of the doctorings can be done onsite with the physical therapy. Overall, it just checked all the boxes. The staff is very helpful, answered all of our questions, met with us on a couple of different occasions, toured several different units, and introduced us to a couple of the residents. My father says the food is excellent. I only had one meal there myself. They have a full activity schedule. They do outings in the community. They have classes and little events and stuff. They have a movie theater with popcorn and they have a poker Texas Hold'em event. There are a ton of different events. Comparatively speaking to other places, they had less money, but more to offer and newer."
