Memory Care Reviews for Brookdale Trail Ridge

I visited this facility

I wasn't impressed with Emeritus. I thought it was too pricey and too small. When we're touring the facility, it didn't really looked like the residents had a lot to do. It was too quiet. It didn't looked like the residents were engaged or having fun. The staff didn't really looked like they were having fun either. It looked like a nursing home. It was a very nice, well-kept place. But we just didn't get the right vibe. It was strictly memory care.

I visited this facility

Emeritus at Sun City West was beautiful. The staff were very polite and nice. The food was good and they had a lot of activities. They had a lot of tools appropriate for a barbeque. However, the apartment I saw was very small and I didn't like that at all.

I visited this facility

We looked for a place for our mother, so we went to Emeritus at Sun City West. It was set-up like a little neighborhood with a common area in the middle and branching out to different areas. There were different stages for memory loss and the street-like set-up helped them recognize where their rooms were. It was clean, modern and mentally-stimulating for the elderly. There was a chapel which was open for the different religious sectors if they had activities. It looked like a little mall with a library, ice cream parlor, salon and more small rooms they could enjoy. There were a lot of activities for the residents and they were not trapped inside the rooms. With regards to the food, there were three entrees they could choose from everyday. The staff were super nice and they wore different colored scrubs depending where they worked, so the residents would recognize them. I don't think I have seen a nicer facility ever. The only problem was that you were required to pay the first six months out of your pocket before the Medicaid or other insurance could be used.
