"My mother has lived in Independent living at Danberry for almost 2 years, and recently moved into their memory care unit. Danberry staff has been a godsend to me. They are very aware of their resident’s conditions and are so helpful when difficulties arise. I have nothing but good stuff to say about the entire staff. From food service to security to activities and reception, I have had caring feedback about my mom. They were very supportive and involved with my decision to increase my mother’s level of care. They have concierge physicians who are excellent and if you have any questions or concerns, Melissa is a delightful and effective resource with lots of ideas to help with whatever you need. I truly appreciate all that they do for my mom, and the peace of mind that they provide is nothing short of a blessing!!"

"I toured The Ridge at Grandview. It's beyond my means. But I like that it was clean and the people seemed attentive to their clients. The people were free to walk because they were already in a secure place, as long as they weren't disturbing other patients. So they were really courteous and they didn't hassle me about looking around. And of course, they showed me what my husband's room would look like. The room was clean and nice. It had a bed and a TV. It is like he's at home. It would have his personal stuff. The layout of the building was beautifully done, too."

"The staff at St. Martin's are caring and take great care of the residents. You can't ask for a better place for your loved one. "

"I had an in-person tour. They were very friendly and accommodating. It was very spacious. We liked the fact that everyone kind of seemed to know each other. It was a very good community. They had a refrigerator and a microwave in there. There was no stove. They serve meals. The staff was bubbly and hilarious. He was very friendly and full of energy. They had balcony spaces or patio spaces."

"My mother-in-law has moved into Monark Grove at Greystone. She is currently in their assisted living. She is only there for a few days but it's been good. It's just a beautiful facility with a lot of different activities and things she could do. She visited there with us before moving in and everyone was very friendly. The location was fabulous for us, too. It was the best facility out of all the ones we looked at. The food is also good, according to her. I did try it when they invited us to their Christmas party, and it was very good."

"My in-laws will be moving into The Crossings at Riverchase. The staff was very friendly and engaged. We heard good things from a couple of residents about the food. The units were all nicely laid out, spacious, and brand new. They have a salon, an exercise room, transportation, and they showed us a program schedule. They will get a two-bedroom apartment. They did a great job. We talked to the both the marketing director and the new resident director. We also met the overall facility administrator. It's brand new and spotless. They opened their assisted living the day or two before we visited (they just got a license)."

"The Leadership Team was fantastic! They welcomed me and shared the facility with great information and always with a cheerful heart. They assisted me with the refurbishment choices for my apartment prior to move-in and provided all the necessary information to move forward. They have been so supportive and kind as I wait for my unit to be ready (I move in on June 13th). I look forward to making new friends and learning new hobbies as I get to do activities that I already enjoy! I also look forward to being pampered with great food and a cleaning and maintenance crew to work with me as I live the next chapter of my life!"

"We chose Pleasant Villa Independent Living for my cousin because it is affordable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. All the residents are very happy there. Even though it's an independent living, they still have a lot of activities and they provide them with three meals a day. They have exercise time, bingo where they can win useful things for their apartment, and groups that come in and do different things like singing."

"Maplewood Lane Assisted Living seemed like it would be nice. I could see a couple of the residents there, even though there weren't many that I happened to see in the community area. They seem to be fairly well independent, as far as I could tell, compared to my mother, who has severe dementia and is pretty much in a wheelchair. So the question was whether she would be able to be cared for in just plain assisted living or not. The staff who gave the tour was very caring. He's a Christian man that I would feel good about having my relatives there. They only have, I think 16 rooms, and there's only one left. They said that they lost some patients during the COVID epidemic. Otherwise, before that, they rarely had an opening. It doesn't sound like patients leave there that often. The room I saw was nice and is furnished, but you can also go either way and bring your own furniture as well. It had a carpet in the room, there's a shared shower with one other room, but it has its own toilet. The upkeep looked excellent; everything was in very good shape. They had a nice dining area. I met one of the cooks when I took the tour, she just finished making a cake, and I got the impression that the food would be good home-cooking. They have scheduled things like bingo and board games. My mother likes to sit and socialize and she'll have some opportunity for that. Plus all the rooms are fairly close to the meeting area. They had a front porch with some rocking chairs out there."

"My mother lived in Covenant Woods' memory care for 3.5 years until her passing. She was loved and well provided for. The staff was excellent, attentive, helpful, and well cared for. The administration was wonderful to work with and truly cares for their residents and employees. Living out of town, it was a relief knowing she was in such a wonderful place with wonderful people! Highly recommended!"

"Legacy Ridge Trussville had two spots available on the memory side. The unit is like a studio room with a separate bathroom. It has windows on two walls. Three full meals and snacks are included. The one who toured me around was the executive director. The place was clean. They showed us a room where an occupant had just left. He told us that they paint it, and they do that in all the rooms before they open them up, so that was nice. They also use Alexa in all the rooms."

"The room at Mount Royal Towers was small but had a beautiful view. The kitchen area had a dorm refrigerator and a microwave top. It was an impressive tall building, but I was disappointed with their small dining room. On the main floor, there was a bank, a pharmacy, and a beauty salon. The place was clean, but the room's carpet was horrible because someone had just moved out, and they hadn’t cleaned it yet. The food we had during the visit was OK, but we only had two choices for lunch, and they were snack food."

"I was sent to HealthSouth Lakeshore Rehab and they were quite good. They have several places where you can enjoy a meal with friends or with other patients. The physical therapists are excellent. The food was good and more than adequate. The room is just basic, a bed and a couple of extra chairs, built in dresser and a closet. It is very well maintained and more than adequate in size. "
