"The staff in Meadowview assisted facility are very friendly. My mother is very happy to be fortunate to have people to talk to, especially when she get's lonely. Most of the family visit her on the weekends. This facility are there for her every day of the week which is great because everyone in the family are always busy with work. My mother is 88 years old and isn't stable enough to walk by herself. Her legs are very fragile. My mother has fell down several times when she was living by herself in her home. Living in this assisted facility has helped her over the past 2 years. My family agrees that this facility has given my mother the best assistance. I am content. I hope my mother lives many more years and I know this facility will help her accomplish it. "

"The Waterford on the Bay was wonderful but unfortunately with the community Medicaid, I would have to pay $175 for the aides to be in there and I can’t afford it. Plus, I would have to pay another $3000 a month to have my mother there. I was very disappointed. The place was beautiful. The apartments were nice and the rooms looked like hotel rooms. They have a special floor for the dementia patients, which is a locked floor. But the dining room was a little small for the amount of people that they had in there. It looked a little crowded but it was clean. The rest of the population is like a hotel, its right by the water and it’s beautiful. But it is very expensive. The woman that helped, she was just wonderful. I was very impressed. They showed me their laundry room, the woman fold laundries, arts and crafts room. The dining room was beautiful and the lobby was gorgeous. I thought it was like a 5 star hotel. They had a big desk just like in a hotel check-in desk. They have activities for them which looked very positive. "

"The facility is clean and has a soothing environment for those residing there. My mother has been a resident there 4 years, all health care providers at Hillside Manor are caring with compassion for all their residents. My mother receives visits from a family member every day or every other day. Our visits vary in the time of day, and never have we witness any resident being mis treated, or unattended. They take extra care in providing entertainment and trips for the residents that help them maintain a good quality of life. The doctors, nurses, CNA's seem to be happy working there, and when the employees are happy, you will have happy residents. I can't say enough about the wonderful care and treatment our mother receives. If she isn't well or a health issue develops, the doctor or nurse will phone us to let us know what course of treatment will take place and to get our approval before going forward. God Bless the staff at Hillside Manor Nursing Home. "

"The security staff was very helpful in giving directions and helping you find what you need to find in Chapin. It had a big dining room or auditorium where they had events, like people who played music, magicians, and Bible study. It’s very clean, but parts of it are very old and could use updating. The staff engages with the residents. "

"I wish I had known before sending my father into Margaret Tietz that their facility was not as their web site suggests, caring and kind with the cute little hearts. The nursing staff was unkind, the doctors were never available (it was like pulling teeth to get them to see patients), and in my father's case, I don't know why, but they didn't feel it was necessary to monitor someone as sick as dad while giving him coumadin, a blood thinner. When someone has a bad heart, bleeds easily and bruises easily, I think most would agree they should be monitored frequently. Their physical therapy was pretty good, and he even liked it, but a coumadin overdose sent him right back to the hospital. It took about 4 days to get the bleeding under control. Dad didn't have to die. Cookie-cutter medicine just doesn't work."

"Good for rehab: bad for long-term. My grandmother stayed in this facility for 2 months undergoing rehab for a broken ankle. She received good, attentive care and the nurse assistants were unusually nice. There was a good activity schedule. My grandmother absolutely loved the physical therapy department because they gave her daily attention and helped her walk. But the facility itself leaves a lot to be desired. While hospitable to residents and visitors, it often has a strong smell which suggests minimal cleaning. Also, the facility is very hard to get to without a car and is practically in the middle of a highway, so if the residents want to sit outside they have to sit near the garbage cans out in front (there is no garden area or proper place to sit). My grandmother ended up needing long-term care so we moved her to a different facility. Long story short: Rego Park is fine for rehab, but not for long-term. "

"several relatives have used the short term rehab facilities. The rooms etc are very nice, the nursing staff is quite good (could be better could be worse... I'm happy). The PT/OT staff is exceptional. REALLY great folks. The Social workers are useless. Actually that may be giving them too much credit. Replacing their offices with a broom closet might be an upgrade."

"Elmhurst was beautiful, and they were caring to the seniors there. They were able to go around and not confine to one spot; it was really nice, but unfortunately my father did not have the coverage that would keep him there longer. You have a 24hr nurse station, and you have home attendants that come do your laundry and clean your room. You have books downstairs and beautiful scenery. They are friendly, caring and there were people helping with feeding some of the other people. They had two rooms on each end where it was like a living roomwhere they could sit down and watch TV, and then they had another room that was the cafeteria. I wish I could afford it, but it’s very expensive. "

"Right now, Regal Heights is going through COVID, so there are no visiting hours. It is a little difficult to get in touch with anybody because there's one main number, so you have to call a few times, but when you get past that, you can call the floor that my dad's on every day. You can drop off anything you want like clothes and food at the restriction area. We have video contact as well. It's a good place and it's highly recommended to me by people who were there, that's why I chose it. The outside looked pleasantly nice and fairly new, maybe 10 years old or younger. The inside looked clean and tidy, and the security was professional. We're not allowed past certain areas, so if you drop off anything, you have to make a list and you have to know which clothes you gave him and make a copy of the list for yourself. The lobby area was clean. Because there are no visiting hours, they leave a call on your phone every day after 5:00-6:00, and they give you results like if there's anybody who has COVID or who caught it, or if there's anybody who died from it unfortunately. They call you every day for that, so that's kind of informative and nice to know."

"My mother is staying at Queens Boulevard Extended Care. The rooms are very nice; they're excellent. The staff is very friendly. We are very happy. I will not say the food is excellent, but it's OK. It's good and very neat. I like the environment. I like the furniture there, especially the way they set up the beds. Two of the beds were by the window and I liked it. Very bright. "
