Right now, Regal Heights is going through COVID, so there are no visiting hours. It is a little difficult to get in touch with anybody because there's one main number, so you have to call a few times, but when you get past that, you can call the floor that my dad's on every day. You can drop off anything you want like clothes and food at the restriction area. We have video contact as well. It's a good place and it's highly recommended to me by people who were there, that's why I chose it. The outside looked pleasantly nice and fairly new, maybe 10 years old or younger. The inside looked clean and tidy, and the security was professional. We're not allowed past certain areas, so if you drop off anything, you have to make a list and you have to know which clothes you gave him and make a copy of the list for yourself. The lobby area was clean. Because there are no visiting hours, they leave a call on your phone every day after 5:00-6:00, and they give you results like if there's anybody who has COVID or who caught it, or if there's anybody who died from it unfortunately. They call you every day for that, so that's kind of informative and nice to know.

I like Regal Heights. It's a fine, clean, small place. The staff is very professional, very nice. They call promptly if there is something wrong and report everything right away. They call me to tell me that they're changing the medication and ask for my permission. They don't do anything without my permission, which is nice. My aunt is 88 years old and couldn't take care of herself anymore. She kept falling, so she needs 24-hour supervised care. Regal Heights is very clean, nice, and organized. The social workers are very nice and excellent in their work. The transition was very easy. From the social worker to the Medicare/Medicaid assistant who did all the papers for me, and the office, they made it very easy to take care of everything.

I had a lot of good comments about Regal Heights. It has a very pleasant atmosphere. Mom was there for two weeks before she died. The staff was taking good care of her.

Regal Heights Adult Day Health Care Program is great, the staff is well trained and professional. My friend is currently attending the program, they are well trained in Alzheimer and Dementia. I would recommend this program to anyone. The most important thing that this program is rehab therapy and transportation to and from home

Regal Heights Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is an excellent nursing home. The staff are friendly and polite. The rooms are clean, and spritely volunteers are always available to bring in an extra pillow or flowers, or anything else a resident may need. However, while the facility is clean and nice to live in, the residents are lacking emotional stimulation. They are treated for their medical conditions, and then they are left alone. They are lonely, and some are even depressed. They need people to talk to, however, that is not available. The volunteers do play games with the residents and engage them in activities like Bingo, however, this is not enough. These activities take place a few times a week. Often, a resident may miss a session because of medical treatments. I believe volunteers need to be available to the residents at all times. They are quite sad, and have no one to talk to. All it takes is a friendly face and a listening ear to make them feel better.

This is one of the worse facilities in New York. My mother was a resident there. Not only did they rip a seven inch by three in piece of skin off her arm but they refused to admit responsibility for it. The also lost most of her clothes. The place looks nice with the giant goldfish swimming in the pools of water in the lobby but if you want patient care don't use this place.
