I wish I had known before sending my father into Margaret Tietz that their facility was not as their web site suggests, caring and kind with the cute little hearts. The nursing staff was unkind, the doctors were never available (it was like pulling teeth to get them to see patients), and in my father's case, I don't know why, but they didn't feel it was necessary to monitor someone as sick as dad while giving him coumadin, a blood thinner. When someone has a bad heart, bleeds easily and bruises easily, I think most would agree they should be monitored frequently. Their physical therapy was pretty good, and he even liked it, but a coumadin overdose sent him right back to the hospital. It took about 4 days to get the bleeding under control. Dad didn't have to die. Cookie-cutter medicine just doesn't work.
