"My mom was in Amsterdam Nursing Home for rehab. It was a very good experience for her. The staff was excellent, very attentive, and knowledgeable. She had no complaints about the food, it was good. The facility was clean, but the rooms were small, the floor she was on was congested, but the facility was beautiful. They had a grand piano in the lobby, they had people coming in to entertain, they had a hair salon, they had a topnotch physical therapy."

"I had surgery on my knee and had it done three times, so I was in three large facilities in Manhattan here. The last one I was in was Isabelle Geriatric. It was a very good rehab place. They really are trying to get you better through the physical exercise that you do every day, twice in the morning and the afternoon. And then, for the rest of the day, you are on your own to take a nap or recover from the workout. And, of course, I had my own room, which was covered by my health insurance. They brought the food or you could go to the dining room. I did that once, and I didn't like it, so I set out to take my meals in my room, and it was the same food. I just didn't like looking at those poor people who had to be hand fed because they just couldn't feed themselves anymore. They had a dining area on each of the 13 floors, and you had a choice of going there for each of the three meals. They did also provide sandwiches, snacks, and fresh fruit in between. So, you could go in this room that was set up with tables, and the food was, I guess, almost prepared in that same room. The food was fine. I am sort of a gourmet so obviously it didn't quite match that. It was obviously mass produced, but considering the place where I was, it was OK, but not great. I think the building went back to the 1950s, but they had remodeled and painted it. The bed was motorized, so it was a contemporary bed, and there was an adjacent bathroom which had a bath tub, a shower, a sink, and a toilet. They were very good about putting clean towels in there. Also, if you happen to have a problem with your bowels or bladder at night in the bed, they didn't make a big to do about it. They'd clean you up. The floor that I was on was for people whose mobility was impaired for various reasons. Usually, somebody would come by and pick me up in a wheelchair, and they would wheel me to the first room where they work on certain parts of physical therapy which was exercises like moving your arms and legs. Sometimes, they would do one procedure in the morning, the other in the afternoon, and then reverse it. The other procedure was for people who were more impaired than I was or people who were obviously experiencing dementia. I had not gotten that bad, but they had the same things for many people. They modified it a little bit, and they realized that I wasn't defective in my cognitive behavior, so we found something else to do to take up the time. "

"I like Belleville Senior Health Services. They feed us, we do exercises, and we go shopping if we need to. The staff is very nice and everyone is welcome. They've got doctors on staff. I go there in the morning every day. If I had family and friends out here, I would recommend them. The people are very fine."

"My site visit prior to my mom's admission convinced me that this is where she needed to be. They also have a virtual tour which adequately describes the facility. I was struck by not smelling urine permeating through the halls like in other nursing homes. I am most appreciative of the fine, caring staff that mom has been blessed with on the 6th floor. My mom is Puerto Rican and is reverting back to her roots and St. Vincent de Paul caters to a large latino population which makes mom more comfortable during her lucid moments. The compassion and the 24/7 care is priceless. Mom had been severely depressed and lived in a filthy environment and is now safe and clean and socializing. I wish i could care for her at home, but since I can't, SVDP is the next best thing. They made my painful decision less traumatizing."

"My mom recently had a knee replacement surgery and our Dr. reccomended Queens Boulevard for the rehab required to get her back on her feet. The care there was very good. Our therapist Wendy was firm yet gentle with mom and had her walking better then me by the time she left. Our nurse Frankie was so helpfull and always had time to answer our questions. I also want to thank Beena from the fiscal office. They explained everything about our bill and seemed genuinely concerned about mom. The place was clean and didn't have any bad odors. Even the food was decent. It's not a 5 star restaurant but my mom who is very picky always had something she liked. "

"Regal Heights Adult Day Health Care Program is great, the staff is well trained and professional. My friend is currently attending the program, they are well trained in Alzheimer and Dementia. "Home Away From Home Adult Medical Daycare center . We visited this center with relatives. The staff is awesome. They really love taking care of the elderly and they do a great job. They do everything to keep them clean, safe, well fed and stimulated. Everyone is there ready to help you . We love the attention they give their clients. This center with a lot of services and interesting activities. Pleanty of day activities are provided, as well as a balanced diet, nursing services, music and senior yoga.Excellent facility for people who speak Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Korean, Indian …"

"I've been in the Cabs Nursing Home for rehab since January. The place is very clean, they clean everyday, three times a day. I have a new and very comfortable room with a wonderful view. The staff is excellent, they do not take too long when you call using the call button. "
