My aunt stayed in Amsterdam House for ovre a month and a half after a stroke. The care was excellent - from OT, PT, Speech therapy, and floor nurses and aides. The level of staffing was very adequate and very responsive to my requests. The food was fine. The room was a bit bare but very clean. My aunt was very well taken care of during her stay.

My sister stayed at Amsterdam Nursing Home. Everybody acted like they didn't want to do what they had to do when they had a grudge on their shoulder and I didn't like the place. The people there are mostly grouchy. They're not friendly. You ask for something, you'll get it up three days later if you get it at all. Everybody walks around with a long look on their face. It's just a low-end nursing home. They looked like they didn't want to answer a question and liked to get away as quickly as possible, I'm a family member and they didn't include me in decisions. The physical therapy was not bad, except for the fact that if a person said they didn't want to do it today, they didn't do it. It wasn't encouraging to the point of, "This is what you need", "I'm going to help you", or "Even if you're not going to improve if you do this", they don't care. The place is old and not particularly clean.

My sister is in the physical rehabilitation part of Amsterdam Nursing Home. We're very comfortable with them as far as we're concerned that it's well managed and well maintained. They seem to be attentive that my sister is comfortable with the care and they seem responsive. The food seems to be OK generally. It's very clean and very well maintained. The staff is helpful. We have no complaints. Every meal isn't the same, most are good, and some are disappointing. They have the gym and other rooms for other activities.

Not enough staff but the staff who care really work over and above. They've overworked and need assistance...smh They take way to long to answer the floor phone which is disturbing. You cant get a single person in administration to call u back or answer your call. The food they serve patients is often cold. My mom has had numerous falls in which I've noted for investigation.

My mom was in Amsterdam Nursing Home for rehab. It was a very good experience for her. The staff was excellent, very attentive, and knowledgeable. She had no complaints about the food, it was good. The facility was clean, but the rooms were small, the floor she was on was congested, but the facility was beautiful. They had a grand piano in the lobby, they had people coming in to entertain, they had a hair salon, they had a topnotch physical therapy.

Amsterdam Nursing Home was an older but excellent, very elegant, and clean place with good rehab. The staff was good, but the social work was not so good. The food was not good for my husband, but the dining room on the rehab floor looked fine. He was happy there.

My father-in-law had stayed at Amsterdam Nursing Home. The staff was wonderful. The place was very clean, bright, and the layout of the rooms were nice. The dining was just basic, clean, and neat. The staff was what impressed me most.

I am a registrant in the Adult Day Care Program. We spend most of our days in a basement dining room. The day program consists mostly of cutting out pieces of construction paper or gluing together wooden sticks and the like. Once a week the nurse gives a talk. There is an exercise room with aging equipment that the staff barely know how to operate.

They treat her really well and she seems to like it. They help her with cooking and cleaning and things like bathing and taking her pills. It's good because she doesn't have to drive and there are her friends there. It's good that we do not have to worry about her. I don't have anything negative to say. The people that worked there seemed to be doing it for good reasons.
