"Easter Seals is a brand new facility. It's an inter-generational center and It is really nice and wonderful. They had a place in there where they could do the people's hair, where they could get people showers. They have a big screened in porch that people could go out all the time. They had gardens in the back that they can go into. They had PTs , OTs, speech therapists and health nurses. They had transportation but it's a bit far away out here and it's a difficult trek for my husband with the traffic situation. "

Instead of seeing walls, you see windows, so the design helps make it seem like a happier place"”and hip. There are white floors and high white ceilings, which gives it a modern, a clean look. Parking is challenging; there is no lot, so visitors have to parallel park on a one-way street. It is extremely secure--monitored with a call-in and sign-in system for those who enter. It's also very well maintained. The place inside is very pleasing to the eye, because it has lots of glass and big windows that look out on landscaping. It feels spread out, never crowded. All apartments are private"”nice, moderate size, with appliances that are not new but kept very nicely. Some group activities are offered, mostly organized by the residents, most of whom seem very active; there is no communal dining. All residents are responsible for covering and paying for their own care needs. "

A little over a year ago she started with two days a week, and we moved to four days since her disease has progressed. I am very happy with the staff. They are friendly, accessible, and flexible. My wife enjoys the activities - there is always something going on - and she also usually enjoys the food, which is great since lunch is her main meal of the day. I chose Winter Growth for the location, cost, and transportation. The facilities do show some wear, but overall they are in good shape. "My mother-in-law is in Stella Maris in Lutherville-Timonium right now. The big difference with this facility is they have actually set up a rehab plan. The goals they've set are realistic, and that she can easily reach to show progress. Her room is very clean. We have brought in personal items to try and make it a little bit more homey. They talk to us almost every day in regards to how she's doing. So, communication is very good. The facility is nice, well kept, well furnished, and very pleasing. The food looks very good and very well prepared. They've made it very healthy in regards to what the doctor has instructed on what she should have and what she shouldn't have."

"JCA is a full service facility that provides rich adult day care programming together with an extensive transportation service. The staff is constantly looking for new activities including computer training. JCA also operates a job training program for seniors. I believe on would be well satisfied with JCA as an adult day care facility. "

"My brother-in-law went to Crescent Ridge. The staff was very good. Everything was good at Crescent Ridge, and the only reason I pulled him from there was that they didn't have transportation to come to my area to pick him up in the morning and to bring him back in the evening. That's the only reason I really took him away from there. The rooms were clean and neat. The bathroom and the dining area were clean and neat. Food was good, but it was catered. It was almost like a Meals-on-Wheel type food that they brought in, but they did the breakfast there themselves. The lunch and the dinner were brought in. With regards to activities, they had dance, music, TV, exercise, and they would go on little trips. As for the management, they did everything very well. There was no problem with scheduling or billing. Everything was good. "
