I worked with Comfort Keepers for my mother for over a year. We had a hands-down excellent experience with them. We hired them as in-home care from 11 a.m. until after dinner. The caregiver would come in at 11, prepare lunch for my mom, do light housework and entertain her. They were just wonderful and they were sweet to her. They took care of the medical appointment she had, they managed her medication, and they made dinner for her. They stayed with her through dinner and put the breakfast in the refrigerator for her so that when she wakes up in the morning, she could get into the kitchen and make herself a cup of coffee and have a little breakfast. It worked out beautifully for quite awhile until her health started failing. That's what Jennifer, our caregiver, provided for us when we were using her through Comfort Keepers. She really was eyes and ears for the family because none of her children live in the Virginia area. We really needed someone to organize everything. She watched the house, she watched the mails, she watched the meds, she watched my mother, she took care of grocery shopping, she did all of her driving for her and took her everywhere. She was a lifesaver. In terms with working the administration, they were very good, too. We went through 3 or 4 different women before we landed on Jennifer, but they worked really hard to find the right kind of match for my mom and made sure that the caregiver was what my mother was comfortable with. She became part of the family over the course of the year.

We used Comfort Keepers in the past for my mom on an as-needed basis. It was great. I would use them again in the future. They provided home health aide and CNA type services for my mother. It was personal care and companionship. My mother only had two different caregivers and she was comfortable with both of them. They were very nice and I had a great experience. If I needed somebody in a very short time, they turned it around very immediately for me when they didn't have to. They went above and beyond in making sure somebody came by and set my mother quickly and provided me services within a very short period of time. I would highly recommend them.

Comfort Keepers were good. They helped my mother get dressed and they helped her eat. The services were good. We had a favorite caregiver but we didn't use Comfort Keepers very long.

Comfort Keepers' service was good. However, they need more American speaking individuals. That was my one concern. As people get older in this area, they have a hard time understanding you and if you don't speak clear English, they don't always understand you. All the people were really nice and caring, but that was my one big concern. Also some of them don't have a broad English language. My father was 82 years old and he said, 'Get me something out of the icebox.' Well, they didn't know what an icebox was; they know it's the refrigerator. Because he was older and they used to have an icebox back when he was younger, he didn't refer to it as a refrigerator now. We used Comfort Keepers for six months. I had one young lady who was phenomenal. I wished I had her round-the-clock seven days a week. We actually did have her four days. I also had two night ladies. One spoke very clear English and the other lady did not speak very well but she was the most caring person. My dad slept most of the time at night so there wasn't a whole lot of communication happening, but she knew enough to know to get water for him or to get whatever he might need through the night.

Comfort Keepers was great. We used them for 6 months back in 2018 when my mom needed some help. They provided someone to come in during the day and helped take care of her needs like help with feeding, help with light housekeeping and with companionship. My mom was very comfortable. We're satisfied with them. It was a very easy process. From the time we got back to them to the time we started using the service, it was probably less than a week.

My mom used Comfort Keepers for 6 years. We had always been very happy with them. They worked with us to make sure we got the right person, and we were really happy about that. They basically took care of my mom. Unfortunately, my mom ended up in the hospital. Her Comfort Keeper, Theresa, checked on her the whole time she was in the hospital and in the rehab until I finally talked to her one day and said that my mom was not coming home and that she is going to be in an assisted living.

We have been using Comfort Keepers for about a year now. We are still using them. They are providing companion care, just sitting with my father, taking him around, trying to exercise him and reading to him. We have one caregiver that we use and I would say that he is excellent. He is caring, compassionate, just excellent. Billing and scheduling is very simple to do. We have them all on a regular routine but if we need to change that at a moment's notice, they're very accommodating.

It will be eight years now that the family has Comfort Keepers. It is fine. I was pleased with the staff that came to the house and for the most part, the administrative staff has been wonderful. I have two elderly people here and they're very difficult. I now have Letty and I have her for over two-and-a-half years now and she is my 19th. She is wonderful. She is very good, very patient, and the nicest caregiver. She does everything for my mom. She keeps my mom company, she comes and visits her, she communicates with her, and she washes and bathes her every week. Sometimes she will set her hair and she will do her nails and then they will watch TV together. Letty makes sure my mom is fed, she helps me go to appointments with my mom. When my mom was hospitalized, I had Letty stay in the hospital room with her while I was home babysitting. She also helps the hospital staff. She watches after my mom and she makes sure that my mom is catered to and basically keeps her comfortable. My mom gets care. Letty makes sure my mom takes her pills and laid them out for her. She encourages her to eat. My mother is spoiled and that's basically it. Comfort Keepers are very responsive with getting somebody. Even in the past, they have been very responsive to try to find somebody to fill that hole if I needed an extra hour or if I needed a weekender. Letty is part of my family. She is very good.

We used Comfort Keepers for my father. It was very good. It was the first time we had to do that, so they came over and they explained some of the options we had. The people they sent were good. We didn't have anybody regularly enough and we didn't have a lot of continuity, but the people were good with my father. They were in the house eight hours a day basically being with him. They would prepare food if necessary, they would make sure he gets his medication. We have a couple of vitals we wanted to take, so they took them for us and recorded them. They assisted my father basically with his daily activities in the house, but they didn't take him out. They were there when we needed them and they satisfied the need up until the point where we chose a different direction.

We used Comfort Keepers for my grandmother. At first, it was just somebody to keep an eye on her and be her eyes and her hands because her eyesight had diminished badly but her mental acuity was still sharp. They came and they helped her out. My grandmother more or less enjoyed their company. They're all good people. I really have nothing negative to say at all. They're topnotch. There wasn't any question in regards to how they're really good at what they're doing. They were recommended by a family friend. There wasn't any doubt about the quality.

Comfort Keepers Home Care was good. The people were very nice and very caring. We used them for just having somebody there with my father. Somebody sat and did various things with him. My father had quite a few caregivers. They all seemed to be responsible, on time, caring and hardworking. They're very nice people. Billing and schedule was good. The caregiver came in, and he was very good and very competent. It worked out really well. Tim was easy to get a hold of. We're talking about overnight hours. They were staying from early evening to the next morning, and they always had it covered. One time, Tim came and covered it, and it worked out fine. Also they were the ones that took the effort to get back right away and had somebody come right away because we needed someone right away, so I thought it was good.

Comfort Keepers was fabulous in taking care of my dad. Dad and Kelsey really became quite a team. Carol did a fabulous job of matching Dad and Kelsey together; they really worked quite well. Kelsey viewed it as her primary job in taking care of my dad's health. My dad had a suture that re-tore and became loose when he re-tore his Achilles tendon. That floating suture, as I call it, was causing all kinds of infections in his legs. It was one of the reasons we first called an aide. Dad had numerous operations and there were all kinds of wounds as the suture was trying to come out of the leg. Kelsey was superb in doing all of that. She also kept Dad's apartment so clean. Because she knew that Dad had these wounds, she made sure that everything was as clean as possible. His clothes were meticulous and she made sure that everything was pristine. She also took notes on doctor's appointments. When she went back to the doctor's appointments, she had the notes from the earlier visits. I was most impressed. She was 19 when she first started, but she is a very intelligent young lady. When the time came to replace Kelsey, Kelsey had set such a high bar, we were told that they could not find anybody in her league. We actually ended up going to another home health provider not that we wanted to because Comfort Keepers until that point in time had been most responsive of our needs. There were a few times that we needed a little bit more help than not, and that was in the beginning rather than the end, but we had a very favorable experience with them. We're really sad that they didn't have an aide that was up to filling Kelsey's shoes. They were certainly the best until it went to replacing Kelsey. I really didn't want to have to leave Comfort Keepers. I appreciate their honesty that they didn't think that they had someone that would be in Kelsey's calibre.

We are working with Comfort Keepers for my father since June 2018. We had a round-the-clock for a few months and then for appointments for a period of time. In May or June this year, we had a caretaker from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. for four or five weeks, and now we're just down to having caretakers to help with appointments. I'm very pleased with them. The main problem is to be sure my father doesn't fall. He gets up and down to the bathroom and they watch to be sure he is OK. There have been times when the caretakers help me with his skin care, too. I come in two or four times to give him tube feeding, so I'm in and out but in between times, they take care of him, getting him up and down, and helping him get bathe. They don't feed him because of the tube feeding; I do that. Everybody has been very amenable to doing things the way we wanted done. Everybody is willing to compromise and go along with what we want for the most part.

My wife Trish passed away but we used Comfort Keepers for her. We had them for about a year prior to her dying. Lorraine was one of the main individuals who visited my wife. My wife was very happy with her. She was wonderful and she did a number of things. When it finally came, it came very quickly. I don't think Trish and I realized that she was dying when she was dying. It took the hospice person probably close to an hour to arrive and declared my wife dead. Lorraine was here then. She was wonderful, very helpful and I was glad she was around. Comfort Keepers were very good. Lorraine did some light cleaning at the house and some laundry. She also did some cleaning in the kitchen and making the bed, and that gave Trish great peace of mind. It took us a long time to get Lorraine. There were several women who came who, for one reason or another, were not capable of doing what Trish wanted at the time. This was all going on during most of 2018. Comfort Keepers worked hard to find the right person that would be able to be a companion for Trish when I couldn't be there.

Comfort Keepers take care of my mom. We love the coordinator. He is just very responsive to emails proactively. We just got one this morning wanting to reiterate that they were doing Thanksgiving, that it was an extra cost, and what the schedule was going to be that day. We love several of the caregivers that luckily have been with us long term. There is one named Cora who is so good with my mother. My dad just loves her. He doesn't have to tell her to do anything because she takes the initiative on her own. She is really great. On Mother's Day I took Cora along to help with my mom in the restaurant. She helped her get in and out of the car. It has really been a very positive experience. My dad had been taking care of my mom for years after she got Alzheimer's, but he just couldn't do it anymore, so we're really grateful with Comfort Keepers. They go there, they show up on time, and they are willing to do weekends when we need to let my dad get away. It has been really good, and it has been mostly positive.

Comfort Keepers had been wonderful. The caregiver changed my mother's clothes, they made her lunch, they made sure she took her medication, and they washed her. My mom can do some things herself but you have to prompt her. She wasn't always like that when they first started coming, but she is like that now. Martha was still fantastic. She was the person that came all the time. If she couldn't, then they would have someone else come. The people in the office were always great no matter who I talked to. They were always on top of everything.

Comfort Keepers were great, but my dad only lived for two weeks after we started using them. He passed away in March. Nevertheless, they were great. He went into the hospital on a Friday, they discharged him the next Tuesday in the hospice. My husband and I thought if we have him at home, we thought we could care for him by ourselves, but we weren't sleeping at night, and it was just crazy. So I was very happy because two people came out right away that same day the first day we called them. They had somebody there that night; it was just amazing. We were really grateful. In the short time we had them, everybody was great, all the providers were really great, and they followed exactly what we needed them to do.

I did not use Comfort Keepers for a long time but only for two weeks. It was nice and the lady was nice. They're all very nice, but it was a shame that I could not use their services. My husband has prostate cancer that metastasize, and at the same time, I discovered that I have a uterine cancer so I have to go to treatment. My husband has to stay home with the helper, but he could not use the services because he does not speak good English. Nevertheless, they were very caring and nice. Comfort Keepers care about people, and whatever you need. You just talk to the staff and to the people at the headquarters, and they're always willing to accommodate you.
