The agency can be more aware of my care needs. The services were not what I thought they would be. The services were not as needed as I thought I would.

They were tasked to keep my mom safe because she had been falling a lot. They watched her at night. They did what they said they would do and were reliable. They did a good job.

She can stay at home, and she is able to stay at her house, which is the important thing. The owner ken is very involved, there are growing pains when coming to a person's house. When there is something that is wrong, they are receptive and quick to respond to any questions

I understand that people have things come up and there was no one there when they had to be there. It took them an hour to get someone there. It was inconvenient. They were having trouble getting my mom a consistent person. It wasn't working out. She had different people coming.

Right now, I have a wonderful CNA. She takes me everywhere I need to go. She schedules herself, so I could have her on the days I really need her. She is always there, and she's helpful, supportive, and encouraging. They could improve their staffing, get the same people to the same patient because people like consistency, and it is better for care; and they could train the aides better, so they do not watch TV and are not on their phones.

It has allowed me to no longer be the primary caregiver anymore. I no longer have to be exhausted from the heavy lifting. The owner has follow up and communication. They're very prompt, if there's and issue they fix it.

My dad is still at home with home care. I'm using BrightStar Care of Central St. Louis County. It is provided by the VA. They provide help with a bath, blood pressure, cleaning up, helping get dressed, helping out or in bed if needed, and clean up after like dishes, etc. I've been using them for four months now. They're very efficient and very kind, and that's all I need. I do the scheduling and the billing goes to the Veterans Administration. They're providing this service to my dad. They're good at scheduling. I would highly recommend them. Everyone that I have worked with has been very efficient and helpful.

BrightStar told me my caregiver was not charting during the shift and was very argumentative towards me when I came home. She talked on the phone more than she was working. I think they need a more professional staff and a staff that really wants to work.

If it weren't for BrightStar I would have to drive over an hour for care. I would be uncomfortable without them. It is wonderful to get the care I require. I can do the routine things I enjoy doing. We have to have a care provider to help with my sister. To make it positive, they just sent someone who was qualified. Sometimes people didn't come. They were having trouble with keeping people. We had a few very good caregivers, but the way they managed their people was very inconsistent.

They take me shopping so that my nieces don't have to go with me. I always ask for a certain caregiver because she is absolutely wonderful. She takes me to the doctor, shopping, and gets all of the things off of the shelf for me. I couldn't ask for a better caregiver.

It is a relief to have someone here for my loved one so I don't worry about them. The caregiver does light housework so I don't have to do it. BrightStar Care came out to our home to learn about my loved one and to find someone. The caregiver that works with my loved one is a very good fit.

I think their biggest problem is the type of people that they hire. Even though I know they offer them training, they didn't have a very good work ethic. They just didn't deliver what they promised. When we did get someone to come and do what they were supposed to, it did work out. There were so many situations that we had to explain things. It wasn't worth it.

In our case, they have been fairly attentive and we were able to call them at any time and usually it will be addressed quickly. I would say that they tend to be more caring than a lot of the others have been. They are more involved with her, just with keeping my mom active and engaged, and they have been striving to do that.
