Most of the service is ok But the payment system is archaic Tammy does not except on line payments and some charges are high ie a bath visit and administration of eye drops

Tammy and Gateway home care took care of my mom for 5 years. It’s started out assisting with getting up and going to bed and bathroom breaks. In the last year of her life care got more detailed with medication being given by them. When we would come to a new crossroads they always had good suggestions for the family. The last month of her life I can’t even describe the care my mom got. Tammy, Liz, Sharon, Tamika, Tara, Catherine, Courtney and so many others were amazing. Being in bed, having weighed maybe 90 lbs she did not get one bedsore. A bath every day. Their concern for the family was also so amazing. Liz was telling us to take care of ourselves and they have our back. The last days of her life the staff of Gateway and Halsted place came to visit my mom and when she passed the stream of employees (family) that came to say ther goodbyes to her and us because we all became family was amazing. I can’t recommend this homecare comp and Halsted place enough

We started to look for memory care, but we were advised for Mom's comfort level to keep her where she is as long as possible. They have an add-on service that you can get, which is Gateway Home Care, that we contracted with. They come in every morning, check on her, help her get dressed, help her get a shower, and will remind her that it's time for a meal. They have an office right there where Mom is. They're always well-staffed and everybody on staff is very nice and helpful. They meet all of our needs. They do whatever we ask. They check her in the morning, and in the evening, and give her her medications twice a day if need be. They'll help walk her down to the dining area, and then back, and they keep in touch with us for medications running low or just observations they've noticed about Mom. My mom has kind of lost her memory, so we wanted to keep an extra close eye on her, and they're very good at that. They just email me the monthly bill for the services rendered and we think it's pretty reasonable for what they do.
