    I am a past client of this provider

    I used this company's Carmel office. I hired them in 2019, wanting my husband to be able to age in place in a safe manner. I wanted to offer my husband safety, comfort, and dignity in his own home. With hospitalizations over the last 2 years of almost 2 months, skilled care was required to ensure his safety at home. I am a working executivel. Due to my husband’s critical health issues and fragility, we have used this company for over 8000 hours over the years. When my husband had emergency hospitalization, I paid the day help and offered to pay the night help even though I wasn’t using them, due to short notice which they gladly accepted. Despite that history, on Friday 2/09 late morning, knowing I was out of town, ( I had emailed them January 3 of my travel for the next 3 months) they sent me an email (NOT A PHONE CALL, NOT EVEN A TEXT) saying they did not have anyone to fill the schedule for Sunday 2/11. (THIS SUNDAY—less than 48 hours away). And that they were discontinuing services with us! I was completely shocked---a company I had trusted to care for my husband for over 5 years. They left a very ill vulnerable person with NO CARE AND LESS THAN 48 hours’ notice, on a Friday afternoon! This certainly created unnecessary complications and increased risk for my husband’s health, well-being, and safety. My husband is a kind man and enjoys interaction. His caregivers liked him and did a good job, when they knew him. Having new people regularly was difficult for all of us, which happened more and more frequently the last months.. Discontinuing service, after 5 years without so much as a phone call really is not a standard of care one would expect. Additionally, when emailing on a Friday (knowing for 5 weeks that I would be out of town that day) that services were being discontinued on Sunday, certainly that gives us no ability to ensure a safe transition of care is in place and put my husband’s well-being at risk. This has been a very disappointing ending to a 5-year relationship. If you decide to use these people, I suggest you check your emails several times a day and have contingency plans in place—to use immediately!

    My wife, Susan, had a stroke 20 years ago that left her totally paralyzed on her left side. I began with Sr1Care about 10 years ago when we moved into their service area. Sr 1Care put together a team of caregivers that were trained in the specifics of caring for Susan. Whenever a caregiver had a family emergency and couldn't come to work, another fully trained caregiver would take over. Unlike previous caregivers we had used, Sr1Caregivers never say "That's not in my job description". Sr1 caregivers help Susan get showered and dressed and they help her with her toileting, as you would expect. They also help Susan with her Kindle reader and her laptop computer. They pick up our little dog and put her in Susan's lap when Susan want's to pet her furry friend. They laugh at her jokes and her stories, even though she has told the same ones over and over and over again. As my health and Susan's health have both declined, we have needed almost 24/7 coverage. Sr1caregivers are well trained to do whatever task is requested, and when no task is needed, they fade into the background so we don't feel like they are intruding on our lives. I can't give enough thanks to Sr1 and all of their staff who have helped Susan, and in the process, helped me.

    Before Senior One it was a nightmare getting quality care for my father at home. We would find a company but the person they assigned to us would call off work at least 2 to 3 times a week. Finally we found a professional company we could trust, Senior One. They are professional and more importantly we always had coverage. The caregivers were prompt and if a change in schedule came up most times they would find someone to fill in. The caregiver who we had most of the time changed everything for my Dad. She brought back hope for my Dad. When we lost our PT she stepped in and got him moving. She was there encouraging him every day!! They even had a book club. My Father turned off the TV and started reading. She also cared about all of our lives and kept us informed about any needs my Dad had. She helped our family more than I can put into words. When my Dad only had a couple of days left, she came on her own time to support me and comfort my Dad. I will never forget this kindness. The evening my Dad passed I was exhausted and Senior One found someone at the last minute to fill in and help me. She was new and very young. Her kindness to my Dad (who she just meant) was unbelievable. She rubbed his legs, talked to him even tho he was unresponsive and put ice on him to cool him down. She was my angel that last night. This company helped us thru the most difficult time of our lives and we highly recommend them. One last important thing, they were signed up with the VA which is how we were able to get the help for him.

    We had the agency come in to explain what they can do for my parents. The intake person, Jen, was extremely professional, intelligent, caring and easy to understand. Within a minute of her being there I knew this was the right agency for my parents. Jen made us feel very comfortable and my parents warmed up to her immediately. My parents told her to sign them up and we can't wait to get started tomorrow. For Jen's managers: you are very fortunate to have such a caring and professional person selling your agency. Hold on to her!!!
