They could have been better at following through with their promises. They said they would train their caregiver, but they assigned a caregiver who has zero training or orientation, didn't even know the name of the client, and had never worked for the agency before. I only got 2 hours' notice that the caregiver was coming and I had to train her. They should improve the training of the caregivers.

You are never really prepared for when your parents suddenly need constant care. Synergy has been a god send! It was a work in progress to find the right match of caregivers for my parents. They required constant assistance during a typical 8 hour day. The ladies who have become my parents caregivers are infallible!!! They are diligently, personable, knowledgeable and professional. They have become a extension of our family. My mom is unable to walk so she requires all amounts of care. In addition, they help my dad with daily life functions. They have gone above and beyond to accommodate our needs and requests and we are truly lucky to have them!!!

They always answer the phone when you call. They can always get somebody in if the original caregiver can't come.

Our Dad really enjoyed when Nancy came to his memory care facility and helped him with activities, eating, and being his friend. The one thing that I would like to emphasize is that we really like the caregiver from SYNERGY HomeCare. The only issue that I have with SYNERGY HomeCare is that when our regular caregiver isn't available, it's tough to find a replacement. Every now and then, there are issues with getting my father motivated, but I don't think that's the caregiver's fault. Some days he is just difficult.

As a family, we are VERY happy with Synergy! The owner Paul met personally with me and my mom to discuss our needs, and also made a followup visit. The staff is also very communicative. There are a lot of agencies to choose from, and we decided on Synergy because they were the most flexible and cost-effective agency in terms of working with us when we needed care only 2 hours a day. They also let us meet with the caregivers first, and are very communicative with both my mom and me if the caregivers are delayed (rare) or need to be replaced. I can rest easy knowing they will take care of my mom if something happens (all of her kids live very far away). We are exceedingly happy with our caregivers. who are all long term residents of the area, cheerful, and capable of handling tasks other than patient care, such as day to day tasks my mother needs done. The most important thing (other than a great caregiver of course) when caregiving from a distance is knowing that the agency will handle problems if they come up and not abandon yo or be hard to reach--in this case Synergy has been stellar. Highly recommend this agency!

I was looking through several websites to find a caregiver for my mom and dad. They needed somebody more for companion care but who also had the ability and willingness to sometimes just get my mom out of the house, help with the laundry which is down in the basement, get her to the grocery store, etc. Fortunately, my mom's doctor recommended Synergy and it's been a great experience. Paul and his wife Shelley were incredibly responsive to my inquiry, set up a home meeting with my family to make sure we were comfortable with their practice and also brought one of his caregivers to help my mom and dad feel at ease since they really "didn't need help". Needless to say, once Maurine engaged with my mom and dad, they have found that they do in fact need help and Maurine always leaves them a meal ready to go when she leaves, taking a burden off of my sisters and me. I highly recommend Synergy and Maurine and am so glad I was referred to them.

Maurine worked with us for many months during the end of last year and the beginning of this year. During this time, she took care of my 91 year old mother who has advanced dementia. The minute Maurine walked in, she clicked right away with Mom. She stayed with her during all of her time at the house finding inventive ways to keep her busy and exercise her . They played games and did coloring and puzzles. She also fed her and assisted her with dressing and washroom issues. My mom was always sad to see her leave for the day but had a big smile when she returned the next day. We were forced to move my mom into a more controlled environment as it was too much for us... Maurine was there until the day we moved her and even went with us to her new home to help with the transition. In summary, I would highly recommend Maurine for any kind of this type of work and if the occasion ever arises that we might bring Mom home we will be on the phone with her first thing to see if she is available to come back.nice

The caregiver from Synergy did a fantastic job taking my mother to her grandson's wedding. The cv was responsible for bathing, dressing, fixing mom's hair & make-up, driving to & from the event, keeping mom calm during the wedding ceremony, socializing, and helping mom with dinner. Th cg exceeded our expectations. Prior to the date there was a meeting held with synergy representatives to evaluate mom & discuss the expectations for the event.
