Quarry Ridge Retirement is a little more expensive than the others. What it does have is everything is included, which I liked. I don't have to worry about an electric bill or cable bill or internet bill or anything like that. All meals are included and they're very nice rooms. It's a fairly new facility compared to some of the other ones that I saw. The staff all seemed very nice, very warm, friendly, and seemed to be able to answer all the questions that I had. I got a tour of the entire facility, several different types of rooms, from a studio to a single bedroom to a double bedroom, the dining room, the theater, and all of the other facilities. I was impressed. It's a little more expensive, but it has everything included in it, which makes a lot of difference to me. They also have a concierge, which takes care of everything. If you needed your car, they would go out and brush the snow off and bring it up to the front for you. They have their own bus for transportation to and from doctor appointments and things like that. A lot of these things were very important to me. I could have had a meal there if I wanted to, but I was in kind of a hurry that day. The food looked very acceptable. They had enough choices and everything available for three different shifts of breakfast, lunch, and dinner from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. There was a little pantry that was free to the people who went there and whatnot. There's a lot of things going on there. There's a little drugstore, exercise room, woodworking shop, a library, and a theater. I've always been very active, and it would be very difficult for me to just sit around. They had enough activities to keep them going. It's an absolutely beautiful facility. It's only a couple of years old, which seemed to make a lot of difference compared to the other ones that I saw.

Quarry Ridge Retirement was beautiful, wonderful, and new. They had everything anybody could want. However, it was so far away from my children's home, and it was very expensive. The rooms had a stove, a refrigerator, a washer, a dryer, and a microwave. They had a salad bar. They offer three meals a day. The young man who toured us knew everything, answered any questions, and showed us everywhere. The menu looked delicious. The facility is only a year old, so it's practically brand new. They are not 100% completely finished. They showed us the beauty salon, exercise room, and library. It was just very nice.
