"I was able to tour Oak Park Place Madison for my mother, and it was good. I liked it. The apartment buildings are standard like any other, but they were spacious; they did have some space. It's not a brand-new facility, but it's not that old; it was nice. They have very good staff, and they were both helpful and friendly. They were eating and some were exercising. There were some activities, we didn't see more than that. They seemed happy."

"My in-laws are in Noel Manor. It is independent for one and memory care for the other. We did a lot of comparison with the other facilities, and it is a little more expensive, but it provides what we need, and the proximity to us is a better convenience too. The only thing I would find a little odd is that the room has a little kitchenette and really in memory care I find that unnecessary. But the size is very adequate, and it is spacious. The staff clearly knows what they are doing. They are very patient and are also very helpful in giving us ideas and suggestions about how to handle things and not to worry and being able to explain and help us understand what is going on."

"I was at Attic Angel for about a month. The food was very good there. There were nice things to eat. Everybody was very pleasant and very good to me. I was in a small room with a bathroom. "

"I went to Home Again Living Waunakee, and it is beautiful. If that facility would have been closer, I would have chosen it. I think everything about it was very appealing. I liked the fact that the views out the windows were beautiful. The staff was great and very responsive. The rooms were spacious, well-organized, nicely appointed, and beautifully decorated. It is quite a new facility, so it was very clean and very well maintained too. What I thought was unique about the place was they actually have a bar with happy hours. They also have a movie theater onsite (like a little mini home theater), and a really nice game room."

"We really liked Waunakee Manor but it's quite a ways from where we live now. It was very clean and it smelled nice. The staff was friendly and open to any of our questions. They showed us all around and we even got to meet the cook, and they showed us the backyard that had a baseball diamond back there. They said people could sit out and watch baseball games in the summer if they like that sort of thing. They showed us one room that was furnished and then they showed us one room that was unfurnished, so we could get an idea of how big the room was. They showed us the dining area. They have a nursing home attached, so if that was needed, that's available there. The dining room was open and there were a lot of tables in there, and they said everybody could come and find a table and get to know the other people. It wasn't mealtime when we were there, so there were just a few people there. They were having a musical performer while we were there and there were a few people there watching. They have a lot of different activities in that area during the afternoon. In their room, they have a small refrigerator to keep snacks and things in and a microwave if they wanted to use it. They had laundry services that they did and housekeeping. The meals were three times a day, so it was something we were looking for. We met the cook and we got a sample menu."

"Westshire Village at the Lake has a very nice, peaceful, close to country setting. It feels very safe, very warm, and welcoming. It has a nature trail by it and is easily accessible to everything else that one would need, such as any kind of shopping. I just like the community. I've met some of the people there, they seem to be more vibrant. It just meets my needs much better. The staff were very helpful, and very open if you have any questions. It was just very comfortable. They do not have a food program, that's OK with me. They have a very nice kitchen, and I still enjoy cooking, or I'll go out to eat."

"Heritage Senior Living Monona was a topnotch facility. The staff was absolutely topnotch also. The grounds were beautiful and clean. My father was in a studio, but it had everything that he needed. It was clean, the bathroom was large, had a walk-in shower, and a large closet, was handicap accessible for a wheelchair, and it had all the safety precautions. The food was good. They provided three meals a day plus snacks. They had a pretty well-rounded menu. There were plenty of activities there."

"My sister likes Meadow Grove Apartments. They have a lot of activities there. Everything that she needs, they have it. It is a little pricey, but she likes it. I'm very happy, and I like the place, too. You have your own washer and dryer in the unit. There is also a laundry on the second floor. They have a community area where everybody congregates. They have something to do every day of the week. They have like coffee or tea in the morning. She just missed the bowling activity. And then they have a small exercise room and a small library. It's nice. My sister is on the second floor, which is what she wanted. She has a bedroom and a patio off her living area. It's nice. I've been there several times, and the place is very clean. All their activities that they're having for the day and for the week are on their bulletin board. The manager of the place is very nice and knowledgeable."

"The Arbors at Oak Park Place is a very nice facility. They have a lot of activities, and the people in charge are very responsive to everybody's needs. They have a variety of rooms, and my mother is in a two-bedroom apartment. She can go down for Continental breakfast, lunch is on their own, and supper is provided in the dining room. They have a schedule of events. They're having a dog show this week, they have a lot of singers and choirs come in, and they have movie nights, crafts, and a puzzle room. The staff is very nice, and the sales and marketing director is extremely nice. She was always checking in on Mom before we were able to move in because she was on a waiting list. The property manager is very nice, helpful, and responsive. The food I had was very good."

"It is an older home, but they keep it clean and comfortable. The staff is really nice. The food is very good. My aunt has actually put on some weight. "

"Oakwood Village-Prairie Ridge is very nice. It's very large. The apartment I looked at was fine. Some of them are older. They have a whole new wing that's newer. Some of them have patios. There is a church, a woodworking shop, a beauty shop, and a huge restaurant. However, I have to pay a lot of money to go there."

"Kettle Park Senior Living was like a hotel. They just opened, so it was new. When you walk in the front door, there's a big fireplace sitting there with furniture around it and there were a lot of people sitting there just chatting. I think what their deal was, they start at a low price, like $2500, and then everything was a la carte. If you want somebody to clean your apartment, or somebody to manage your meds, or if you want a parking place underneath, you add those on. We were there at Cinco de Mayo and they were having a happy hour. Not only did they have an activity director, but also an assistant activity director. They do exercises, movie night, they have knitting club, baking club, and golf clubs. They even have golf greens outside their facility. I didn't think their kitchen setup was quite nice and they didn't have balconies. It was just a bedroom, but the facilities were beautiful. The gentleman that led us on the tour was taken a little off guard because he didn't know we were coming. I think something didn't work out in the scheduling but, he made time for us anyway. He was very pleasant and was very nice. Even the people at the desk were very accommodating."
