The Cottages of Spokane is newer. They were just rooms that you got to rent. It was built in a circle, so no one in memory care could get lost. The place was very light, bright, and not dingy-looking. There were heated sidewalks so that when it snowed they would still be able to walk in the courtyard if they wanted to, and the people delivering the foods to the different cottages could push their carts without having to shovel, so I thought that was pretty cool. They had independent staff that worked in each of those places. All were like assigned to that one cottage, so the coverage of care was nice. The cottages were spacious enough.

I visited my mom there today. Usually it's ok. But when I walked into there today my mom was resting at the table. My sister and I were there to take her out for Valentine's day. Upon coming up to my mom she smelled of urine. When she got up to walk to bathroom her pants were totally soaked for she had no brief on. After asking the aid to take care of it my sister and I proceeded to leave with my mom to go to lunch. We were meant at the door by the executive director collette and asked if we were going out and when we were going to be back. Usually that happens but this time we were talked to like we were doing something criminal by taking my mom out embarrassing us in front of another family in the lobby and threatened by being told another family member would be called. I was very unhappy w this uncalled for behavior and feel like I'm constantly harassed seeing my mother. It made what was supposed to be a good day w my mother into a time that it didn't need to be.
