"My father-in-law ended up in Heritage Court Assisted Living. It's a secure facility, and so far, so good. He's still trying to escape, but we know he's safe, and they have a very caring staff. I think they're doing a great job, with everything I've seen so far. They're patient and they're kind. They're doing a great job, considering that they're dealing primarily with late stage dementia and Alzheimer's patients. His room is small and it's sparse, but that's really all he needs. It's small, clean, and it's good considering his condition. Their dining hall and activity room are one and the same. They have one upstairs and one downstairs. The facility is functional, bright, and upstairs has a lot of light and lots of windows. The activity/dining hall is very bright and airy. It's an older building but they're taking care of it. It's an older building, but they're taking care of it. They have a variety of snacks like fresh-baked cookies, a refrigerator with juice drinks, yogurt, sodas, and such that are available to the residents all the time. The day that I toured, they had about half a dozen residents doing coloring. They have activities and their activities are appropriate for their population. He's on Medicaid. He's getting basic care, so I'd say it's good value."

"Arlington is a great town and Cascade Valley Senior Living is a great clean facility. Their quality was very comparable to others. The floor plan was very adequate. It was clean. We didn't see a lot of clutter. The room layout was fine. I was looking for access to maneuverability. The staff was helpful, pleasant, and caring."

"I loved Olympic Place by Bonaventure, except for the price. It's probably one of the more expensive places and they do not take Medicaid. The amenities were outstanding. It's a newer building and it's very nice outside. It's got good grounds as far as landscaping. It's very attractive. Everything was open, inviting, and clean. They had a nice dining area and meeting areas for the residents. Their menu looked good. The rooms had a small stove and a refrigerator (bigger than what you would see in a hotel room, but not full size). So, they had everything that the residents would need in the room to be able to do whatever they want if they chose to, in addition to the two meals a day, which was part of the price. The person that gave the tour was very friendly and very eager (a little too eager though). She kept saying he has to put her sales hat on and try to get me to put in a $500 deposit to hold the room. She called me up a couple of times to just check in with me, which was fine, but I'm not putting any money down until my mom comes through."

"We toured Gencare Lifestyle at Granite Falls. The staff was good, and she was thorough. She showed us, and we went around. The rooms looked nice. It's the two bedrooms which are what we wanted. She explained that they only have one available now, but they'll keep me informed. It was a nice place. One of the things was transportation. It was only one day a week, but they will be switching, making them two days a week, so that was good. The people seemed to be happy. The rooms were of a decent size, and they were very clean. They had a garden and a gym area. They had physical therapists who worked there and would work with people."

"Brookdale Silver Lake is definitely the ritziest memory care you'll get. It's top-notch. You pay extra, but it's also very geared towards the best experience for memory care patients. It is what impressed me the most. They charge the most, but they also provide the most services. They remodeled it to look like an old-time city street to jog people's memories of the past. They have an excellent craft area, kitchen area, and decorations galore. There's constantly stuff going on. It's a premier facility for memory care patients. They're a great facility. They know memory care the best out of all the places that I've observed."

"My mom moved into Brookdale Everett. They're the most caring and kind I've ever seen in the ones I've looked out for. The staff is excellent. They're long-term. One has been here 23 years, and one has been 20. They have excellent meals. The facility is extremely well taken care of, and they are fairly priced."

"Rooms are lovely and well equipped. Dining area is comfortable with a marvelous menu , even vegetarian options. Activities are varied and interesting. I toured with my Neice and I sincerely wish I was able to stay in the area so I could live there.."

"We toured Brookdale Arbor Place. It was a friendly place. It was small enough, but not too small. The gardens are beautiful, and there are nice places to walk outside. It's very quiet. My friend liked the size of the eating area because she's in a facility now where it's a huge room, and it's so loud she can't hear anybody, or they can't hear her. She loves that they had a top-floor apartment for her with a nice view. The fact that their laundry is done for them was a big plus for my friend, but she can also do her own if she wants to. So, it's nice that they provide laundry and their self-serve laundry. They don't allow cooking there, but there's a microwave, a refrigerator, a sink, and cupboards. It's like a little kitchenette, but no stove."

"We went to Brookdale Stanwood. I would rate everything the same as the other place with the exception of it being an older unit. The rooms are a little smaller, but the core of what you need at that point in your life, they had it just as good as the other place as far as the people interacting, how they care about their people, and how the organizations run. As you're walking around, they acknowledge each other. There's a camaraderie. The dining area was open and good. It's an older building, but it's clean and well-maintained. They offered meals and changed the beds and the linens and all of that. They had activities."

"I visited Cogir of Mill Creek. They have independent living and assisted living. If it wasn't for the cottage at the other place, I would've chosen Cogir over all of the others. We were very impressed with the relationship of the people. They treated us nicely. The rooms were larger than any other place we went to and for us, that was a real plus. You have a lot of food choices. I like the fact that you have a regular menu and you have an alternate menu. You have a choice of a lot of different things. The people were friendly. It's family-owned. Even though it's large, the setting is good. They have an indoor section that you can step outside and I like that they're pet-friendly. The cost was a little higher, but I think it was worth it."

"Ascent Adult Family Home LLC was clean. They had a locked closet that you had to have a code to get into for the medications. The lady showed me around and she was just very nice and friendly. They were going to be getting the room ready (it wasn't ready yet) for my sister. They have to do an assessment first, so she would work with me on my sister. It's a home. From the second floor, getting to the yard in the back would be difficult for the people, but they've got a deck in the summer where people can go out onto and they have two of them. One had raised beds around the whole perimeter so that people could do gardening in it. It was comfortable-looking and it just seemed very nice. The lady I met was the owner. She lived downstairs. She was very personable and caring. They just didn't have a lot of parking, because it's in a neighborhood. So, their parking was not very good to go and visit."

"Brookdale Monroe was excellent. I like how the director answered all my questions and how I got to meet the residents as well. I saw my mom interacting with all the residents and how they interacted with her. They were very professional. I felt very good about the security of the building, so my mom couldn't get out if her dementia got worse. I looked at their menu. I saw people eating it, and they said the food was always consistently good. It's the best I've seen of all the other facilities. It's top-notch."

"Maple Ridge was a very nice facility and everything was just fine, but I’m only 90 years old and some of those people seemed so old. Most of them were in walkers or in wheelchairs. It just wasn’t for us. It was a very nice facility, and I couldn’t complain about that. They served us a meal that was very nice, too, and the people were very accommodating, but we just decided that we’re not going in that direction right now. It’s just that most of the people seemed like they had physical problems. "
