I found a home that was overlooking the water -- Evergreen Park. I took a friend with me, and we looked at it four times. Consistently every time we looked at that home, there was good food, and there were two to three caregivers. Experience was wonderful. It was a beautiful view, and it was very clean. In fact, I almost thought it was too clean because it didn't look lived in. From my observation, they were attentive. The care was available day and night -- there was somebody that lived on site. I noticed that if there was an upset patient, a CNA would go stay with them and sit with them. There was one lady that was so bad when she got there that she was just a mess like my mother, and now she's the happiest woman in the room; she was 104 years old. There were two people that were over 100 who needed a high level of dementia support, and what I'm seeing is they got it. The rooms were tidy and clean. I wanted my mother there very badly. It would've given her a beautiful view of the waterfront as well. I am so heartbroken that she didn't get that room. I went in the morning, the food was cooked, and it smelled good in the house. It was out on the counter, and it looked delicious. Evergreen Park comes highly recommended. Overall, I see a better quality of care and a nicer home. There would be a concern if people have an issue being around the windows though because I did see a lot of insulated glass. I didn't see drawdown curtains or something that would prevent people from being affected by too much light or by cold or by heat. That was a concern to me, but I do like the lighted area, and there's plenty of light there.
